  1. Hahaha, Law is unbelievable. That shot had zero rotation too.
  2. I'm Wuertz's biggest fan, but after hearing this isn't a new thing for him I'm not really worried about him. I think he's in for a big year in '07.
  3. Mizzou handles Colorado 91-82. Really remarkable for them to be 7-8 after starting the conference season 0-4. They go to aTm on Saturday to try and lock down seeding for the Big 12 tourney, right now they could end up anywhere between 5th and 8th.
  4. It's a good thing Vandy lost to Auburn, Mississippi State, and Georgia on the road, otherwise Florida might not have even won the division at this rate.
  5. Why is he in the road uniform then?
  6. That's what I was referencing, but as Vance pointed out, it's more of an automatic no-trade clause than MLB banning the team from trading the player.
  7. That was the sorriest excuse for a brawl I've ever seen.
  8. Again, be sure to report back on how Ted looks.
  9. When I checked near the end of the season, Russell was probably the most statistically complete QB(3rd nationally in QB rating, 5th in completion percentage, 4th in yds/attempt). I think an argument could be made that the Sugar Bowl brought to light how solid Russell has been.
  10. Well at least someone found Lou a hat that fits.
  11. Brewers have the potential to have the best starting rotation in the NL so I disagree. I do think they are giving the cardinals a bit too much credit on the pitching side though. I could see the Cubs scoring as much as the Mets if everyone is healthy. Soriano, Lee, ARam match up very well with the Mets 3 best hitters. Agreed all around. The Brewer rotation could be great(and they were much better last year than I would've guessed). I'm really not a big fan of the Cardinal rotation at all, and think the Cubs could have a pretty dynamite offense if things go well(i.e. performance, managerial decisions).
  12. How does OSU only get whistled for 3 fouls in 19 minutes of the second half?
  13. Would Bill Simmons' head explode if Durant and Oden stayed in school another year? I refuse to consider the idea of Durant staying in school. My head might explode.
  14. We can't trade Marquis yet.
  15. http://www.midmajority.com midmajority is a very good site. I go there all the time. I just wish it wasn't so slow to navigate, otherwise It would pretty much be my only source for college basketball info outside of kenpom.

  17. And how it actually happened... Hornsby had just gotten through dimissing one player with the comment, "You'd better go back to shining shoes because you can't hit," when Santo whispered to Williams, "If he says that to me, I'm going to cry." When Hornsby came to Santo, he said, "You can hit in the big leagues right now," then turned to Williams and said, "So can you, but you're not allowed to play. Get lost."
  18. This is good, as long as you're looking at the right things. This doesn't look like a very good start to me. It looks to me, other than the one quote from Lou (which, admittedly, I'm not enamored with), that Paul Sullivan is the one looking at all the wrong things there. I'm doubting that Lou said anything referencing how Eyre or any pitcher has done against a particular team. That's just absurdly stupid logic, pretty much what we've come to expect from Paul. That doesn't mean I trust that Lou will be looking at the right things himself, though. That's true, I didn't pay close enough attention to the quotes. Still not a huge fan of "throwing a little more speed" out there though, unless the catcher/pitcher/both is truly awful, and even then it's probably not worth it.

  22. I'm convinced that Trent Johnson is the evolutionary link between birds and humans.
  23. hahaha, Stacey King just called Mizzou a lock for the tournament if they finish 9-7. It's nice to at least see our "resume" on one of those graphics for once, even if it is a huge Big 12 homer saying unrealistic things about our chances. Big game in Lubbock as 6-7 Tech leads 6-7 Oklahoma State by 5 with under 7 remaining. Loser probably eliminates themselves from a shot at being in the 4-5 portion of the B12 tourney.
  24. That's much much much easier said than done. I'm glad they finally got around to making this change. It protects the arms of pitchers from coaches who have shown that they will put temporary success over the health/future of the kid.
  25. wooohooo Mizzou travels to Lincoln tomorrow to try to avenge their home loss to the Huskers. After sweeping the state of Oklahoma again, I'm fully expecting Maric to score about 65 points to bring any postseason hopes crashing down.
