I'm very sick of the wind blowing in. -
It gives the Yankees someone to throw out at 3B. And the Yankees would be just fine without A-Rod's bat. They've still got Damon, Jeter, Abreu, Giambi, Posada, they won't be hurting for offense at all.

Needless to say, I'm very glad the Cavs got the 2 seed. Barring an unforseen circumstance I'll be disappointed if they don't at least make the conference finals. -

That fastball must look a lot like the curve until it's too late. I've seen a lot of guys swing at out of the zone fastballs when they had to have been thinking curve. I never thought about the elbow concealing the ball for longer though, pretty awesome.

That'll happen this early in the season when you have a feast or famine offense. When you score as much as 6, 7, 9 and 12 in your wins, it'll offset a couple 0, 1, 2 and 3 run efforts in a loss. They are averaging 2.5 runs per loss and 7.6 per win. While it's true we probably won't have the most consistent offense, that's not the entire reason for our early misfortune. Our last 5 losses have all been by 2 runs or less, making us 0-5 on the season in those games. That's a bit unlucky as well.

Wait, what? This is real? I saw it on HJE(although they extrapolated it to "Lou resigns, Floyd takes over") and thought the whole thing was a joke. -
IF you can trade Z + something for A-Rod, then you can do a follow-up deal sending Murton for a starting pitcher(what small market teams have capable pitchers that are impending free agents?). The offense doesn't lose out because you just added A-Rod, and with Pie you still have a cost effective OF option. Hill, Lilly, Marquis are all guarantees for next season, then you have some combination of your trade acquisition(or other FA), Guzman, Gallagher, Veal, Marmol, and Marshall for the last two spots(more cost effectiveness to counter A-Rod's deal).

Silver lining: For all those worried about Lee getting power sapped from his wrist injury, he absolutely bombed two pitches today that got beat down by the wind. Miller and Maddux both would've had about 5 more earned runs if there had been no wind, never mind if it was blowing out.
