  1. Wouldn't that be Clint once Altidore is established as a target player?
  2. No kidding. Look at that replay they just showed. It's not even close. I agree. But I will also say if I had a nickel for every time a neutral zone infraction isn't called I could probably buy a new damn car. It didn't deserve 30 minutes of whining from Rivers. Alter your cadence and quit crying. Maybe a Matchbox car. Maybe.
  3. They lost to Texas in the Rose Bowl after a long break and lost to Oregon State after a bye last season. That defense will eat up Keller, whether the game is in Lincoln or not. I'm curious to see if Nebraska pulls the same "give up the game to make sure we don't lose by 50" stunt in front of their fans like they did at USC last year.
  4. Ben Jarvis Green-Ellis is a real good back, but if this is really the Mizzou defense then Oklahoma is going to run for about 500 yards, and Javorskie Lane is going to eat us alive in every sense of the word.
  5. Maybe they'll get in a fight with baseball bats or samurai swords or something.
  6. Premium Non-Premium
  7. It seems that way because you don't remember those comfortable leads as vividly. We've had plenty of multi-run wins get finished off without a hitch.
  8. Five premium pages and no mention that this is being reported exclusively by the New York Daily News? The Dugout is a more accurate reflection of player's lives than the reporting that goes on there.
  9. A strong start for the defending champs(in real life and in our league), courtesy of Mssrs. Addai and Wayne.
  10. Welcome! Do you mind resizing that sig? It's about 5 times as big as your post itself.
  11. Altidore is missing a Red Bulls game with injury, so there's a reason he wasn't put on the roster. SBI also had a post supporting the decision on the grounds that Altidore is still really young and doesn't need the pressure of being the savior of American forwards at age 17.
  12. I'm not a huge waiver freak, as long as no one picks him up I'll just wait til all the rosters get filled out to switch them. He's a backup anyway.
  13. quite a bit. I seem to remember reading about a significant Green Monster factor coming into play when rating Ramirez's defense via metric. He's bad out there, no doubt, but I don't believe he's as terrible as his reputation. Yeah, I was going to mention this too.
  14. I think that depends on who's doing the "rating". On the whole I don't think he's underappreciated.
  15. We're going to score points, probably quite a few. Aside from that, well let's just say that every game left on the schedule (save Illinois St.) scares the crap out of me.
  16. I have the wrong Alex Smith. You gave me Tampa's TE and I drafted San Francisco's QB.
  17. How are Vizquel's Gold Gloves a joke? Most of his career he's been a above average defender but not great. Check out his fielding rate. I can't believe he beat out Adam Everett last year. Well yeah, in the last couple years he's declined, but I don't think that long streak he had most of the 90's is illegitimate. As an aside, BP's fielding metrics are terrible.
  18. How are Vizquel's Gold Gloves a joke?
  19. I'll be the one to shoot the fish in the barrel: Jeter. Another one, Torii Hunter.
  20. At first, I thought Bo Hart was joining the team... so you're not alone! Alright, who's Fuld?? CF drafted several years ago out of Stanford. LH bat with a pretty solid approach at the plate and a strong defender, ceiling of a 5th outfielder. Remember Adam Greenberg? He's pretty much another incarnation of that skillset.
  21. Since there was a good bit of discussion about Z's apology in this thread, I went ahead and merged this.
  22. Olerud was a seriously above-average fielder too, if I remember correctly. That's a good one. How about Darren Daulton? 113 OPS+, and three AS appearances to show for it. Darren Daulton made me think of Gregg Jeffries. Unfortunately, after bringing up his BR page it appears he's more qualified for the "Lucky Cards players" thread than the "most underrated". It also makes me think of "You're a 5, Jeffries! A FIVE!" How about Andy Van Slyke?
  23. That's a good one. How long did Greer play? 9 seasons, although only 3 of them had 140+ games. 4420 career PA's.
  24. Rusty Greer Career .305/.387/.478, 120 OPS+, and consecutive peak years(.332/.397/.530 followed by .321/.405/.531) of 132 and 138 OPS+.
