  3. The Braves just took someone from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
  4. THT linked to collegiate splits for all the first day picks. Of note for our draftees: Cashner Flaherty v. LHP: .250/.333/.380/.713 v. RHP: .366/.457/.640/1.097 Home: .299/.399/.488/.887 Away: .329/.427/.632/1.059 Neutral: .380/.429/.560/.989 He also OPS'ed nearly 175 points better in conference than in the non-con. Shafer Carpenter was brutal on RH hitters, better away from home, and overcame a terrible, terrible February. Bristow was much better at home and in the non-con. Harrison got better as the year progressed, and appears to be anti-clutch.
  5. Either I'm crazy, or no one with the last name of Wilson, or the first name William/Bill/Willy, played for aTm this year.

  7. Hahn almost walked out to the mound and started a fight with him on Wednesday after Maddux threw his arms up when he didn't get the corner.
  8. I'd say the D-Backs, Brewers, Braves, Mets, and Phillies, and possibly the Reds, Dodgers, and Marlins

Is he coming off injury? Regardless this looks like a horrible pick.

  11. haha, Luis Flores, we gave that guy so much crap when they came to Columbia
  12. I'm not nearly the draft guru that others are, so I'm not much help there. Raisin, RammyFanny, Ping, and others probably have a better idea. Some of them were talking about Isaac Galloway, a HS OF, for one of our previous picks. Paying him would add some balance to the college heavy, lower ceiling profile of our draft thus far. Not sure what his demands are though.
  13. I don't think it's very legitimate at all. He can't stay healthy as a starter, the short outings keep his arm from falling off. Practically speaking, there's no way Lou or Hendry consider it. And if you were going to move a bullpen arm to the rotation, make it Marmol. The only reason he moved to the pen was necessity at the MLB level.
  14. Day 2 should be getting underway in about a half hour(10:30 CST), rounds 7-50 are on tap.
  15. Guyer is a 22 year old in Low A with a sub-.300 OBP. Not much there.
  16. So, when's the next time we blow a team out with the starter going at least 7?
  17. How in the great blue sea is Capps on waivers? Or Fuentes for that matter?
  18. Theriot is actually 3rd in OPS for NL SS, behind Reyes and Ramirez. He has a 70+ point advantage in OBP over the two guys right behind him. With defense it makes it closer, but as of now it wouldn't be an awful decision if he made the game.
  19. California born guy that goes to KU? double whammy imo BITE YOUR TONGUE Yeah, you're not bringing enough attention to his apparent gang ties.
  20. I think there's a distinction between "All right! Rhee's off to a good start!" and "Rhee looks like a surefire prospect". One is the actual reaction, and the other is the opposite of the criticism that's being told is "too soon".
