  1. Johnson's right handed, and that's a good idea. Give Cedeno a chance to roll over his success from yesterday, and get Theriot a rest against a RHP. He's started 20 of 21 games since coming back from that little problem that kept him out of the first two games at the Cell. He's 0 for his last 8 so he's not a hot bat to keep in the lineup either.
  2. The good news is Carlos isn't getting lucky with all those extra balls in play from fewer K's, walks, and home runs. His BABIP, LD%, and batted ball types are all pretty similar to recent years.
  3. Wonder if they were satisfied enough with Cashner's outing yesterday to send him to Boise too.
  4. Stop walking so many people Veal. Stop giving up HR Bristow, and stop sucking Hernandez, you're depressing me with your performance this year.
  5. In my opinion, it's the absolutes without details, like USS mentioned. For anyone on this board, if you say something with conviction and state it like fact(Crane Kenney is inept, Bob Howry is a terrible pitcher), people who disagree, or simply would like to hear more about it, question that person for details(here's Bob Howry's craptacular ERA). Problem is that RedIvy can't/refused/didn't have details for those convictions, so all the posters here are left with nothing but that original declaration. In general, if you want to say something as an absolute, be prepared to detail your position. If you don't want to or can't divulge that information, then the original statement needs to be much more tempered. In essence, saying "this is the way it is but I can't say why" acts only as an irritant to others. Just my 2 cents.
  6. I don't really have a problem with Samardzija starting, and I don't have a problem with Harden not pitching in Milwaukee. But if that's the plan, then call up Wuertz or Ascanio for today. Marmol is going to be unavailable after 50 pitches in 2 days. Howry has worked 3 of 4 days, Cotts has worked in 3 straight days(although light usage), Gaudin has worked in 2 of 3 days(although light usage), and Dempster is coming off a 118 pitch outing. I guess the plan is hope that Dempster goes 7 and use Eyre/Marshall/Gaudin to finish it off? Hopefully the offense puts up 10 runs.
  7. Let's not be silly here, Antz was not better than A Bug's Life.

  9. Wrong team to do it against with Mr., don't you dare throw at my guys, but I'll throw at your children's skull, managing the other team. This is what I tried to say yesterday, but you say it so much better.
  10. Anyone who wants to swing at a slider on 3-1, especially one as good as Marmol's, is going to enjoy a weak groundout, pop out, or whiff, even if he knows it's coming.
  11. Not my first choice, but not terrible as long as they use him. With the current state of the bullpen, that shouldn't be a problem.
  12. lol, Larussa angry with the umpiring in post-game
  13. If the Brewers were going to sweep, this is the absolute perfect way for it to happen. Three devastating late inning comebacks and a dominating shutout.
  14. DeRo milked that a bit, but I guess I'd rather that than he think he's got it at extension and then not have it.
  15. With Zell, maybe but not with MLB. It requires approval by 75% of the ownership as you probably already know. Look at what happened in Boston with the sale of the Red Sox. The Red Sox weren't being sold by a public company.
  16. Chad Johnson Edgerrin James
  17. Either way, the mention groups when it came to the other candidates, but not Cuban.
  18. This wording Makes me think it's just Cuban, or that he has the vast majority of the stake. Wikipedia says Cuban has a net worth of 2.8 billion.
  19. Williams only had 10 at bats in '52 and 91 in '53.
  20. Gibbons isn't the manager anymore.
  21. I beg to differ. Roy is definately worth 5-7 players HANDS DOWN. is Roy better than Rich Harden, who only cost 4 players (and Chad Gaudin came in the same deal?) Think about it dude Yes, Roy Halladay is much better than Rich Harden, he throws complete games like their going out of style.
  22. Sosa had a .298/.331/.842/1.173 line that June. While quite impressive, considering there have been 30 players who have a higher OPS than that for an entire Season(including Sosa in 2001), I don't think it ranks that highly for greatest months for a hitter. Without going through his entire career, Sosa's best month is probably August of 2001. .385/.469/.936/1.405. Barry Bonds put up a .472/.696/1.132/1.828 line in April of 2004, that's probably up there for all time best months.
