With Wong not committing to a direction he's trying to get Montero to throw by closing the gap. Montero has to make that throw earlier and trust KB and then Lackey to do the same thing from a better starting point.

I know it's been said a lot.....but it's bizarre that they are so displeased by a dude who played six months for them. Cardinal fan jokes aside I sort of get it. They gave up some decent pieces for him (and Shelby miller got a crapload a season later) and then offered him what would have been by far the biggest contract in cardinals history and he spurned them to go their their biggest rivals. To be clear, Bob was fine. There are very few insightful and not backwards-thinking baseball color analysts, so while Bob had his flaws he didn't argue with Len when Len brought more progressive ideas up, and the two had a very good rapport. JD is the unicorn that doesn't force you to make that tradeoff. He's got the rapport, dad jokes, and he doesn't make you bite your tongue when he talks about baseball.
