  1. USA/Brazil at the top of the hour [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] we are gonna get worked
  2. I think this is what they would do. Not 3 of the games but maybe 1 punted to October 1st. Won't matter as Cubs will have division and #1 seed locked up probably just after white sox series only 1 being punted means playing on both off days, the one in between Arizona/Chicago would be brutal given the start times, and that would also create 21 straight days with a game to end the year. I'd guess they do one between the home series and save the other 2 for if necessary at the end of the year. That said, I might have exaggerated the possibility of a rainout all 3 days, I'm probably projecting based on the forecast around here, where we're supposed to get like 6+ inches of rain starting tomorrow.
  3. Very real possibility the entire weekend is rained out. The Brewers are at home so they won't be affected, and the Cardinals are in Detroit where it's not supposed to rain til Sunday. There's 2 off days scheduled the rest of the year, each of the next 2 thursdays, one in between home series, the other in between an Arizona night game and a day game at the Cell. I wonder how they'd handle it, punt to the end of the year to see if they actually need to play the games for the division/home field?
  4. I'm far enough behind that this might already be proven wrong but this feels like Caratini goes deep or GIDP and nothing in between
  5. No kidding, pop time on that had to be fantastic, plus Gore didn't get an otherworldy jump, and he was still easily safe.
  6. Hook it to my veins
  7. To put some numbers to it: Edwards has given up a run in 10 appearances out of 48(21%), with 2 of those being unearned and 3 others being from the same week in June. Strop has given up a run in 8 of 57 appearances(14%), none of those were unearned. Cishek has given up a run in 14 of 67(21%), with one unearned and 3 of those coming in the last 2 weeks. Giving up a run is a very crude example of 'not having it', especially since for most of the year all of those guys can be pulled when they run into trouble, but it's better than nothing.
  8. can’t pump at third, have to push off and throw right away
  9. Shaw was hitting for Kratz, so we’re spared that particular timeline
  10. he k’d back to back hitters after 2 sawed off singles and had a coinflip call go against him against braun i know it’s irritating but scream into pillow instaed of obvious nonsense like this
  11. Hader now a member of the kevin siegrist memorial group for lefties who thought they could get anthony rizzo out because they were lefties
  12. i get not using a good reliever here, i don’t get letting de la rosa face hoskins when maples is right there
  13. that bote/donaldson swing comp mlbn just did was pretty compelling
  14. it had some wicked movement, it looked like a ball pretty easily live. ball 2 sure looked like a strike though
  15. costas and smoltz just took 7 sentences to do a joke that jd would pull off in 5 words
  16. so they gonna put him in CF and move Cain to right or what
  17. For anyone who was momentarily curious like me, players with 1+ years of service time are not eligible, so they couldn't send Smyly to get some innings leading into next year.
