  1. Just getting the trash talk started early
  2. Tonight in this case means it kicks off in 15 mins since the game is in England.
  3. Is that a free service? CBSSN is a cable channel, but I think more people have it than they realize, since they don't carry much besides the odd college basketball/football game. I have it through YouTubeTV, for instance.
  4. The Golazo show on CBSSN is really good for when there's a bunch of UCL games like right now, they whip around from games and show big chances and goals, the production is pretty well done.
  5. Those are likely the two most impactful, but a solid sign for a handful of uncapped dual nationals for future depth(even if several aren't high risk). Soto, Gioacchini, Cardoso, Otasowie, Konrad. Also probably the end of the line for Aron Johannsson's lingering USMNT hopes if he can't make this camp in his current form.
  6. At this rate Renteria is gonna get hired by the Orioles and then replaced by the literal corpse of Earl Weaver
  7. based on this postseason, Arozarena got incredible value for his soul
  8. Daryl Grove of Total Soccer Show passed away last night, for reasons I can't entirely explain it's maybe the most upset I've been about the death of someone I haven't met. By all accounts an incredible dude, cancer sucks.
  9. Yeah, Trueblood was trying to push a similar narrative earlier this week and it doesn't land. On top of what jersey said, since 2015 the Cubs are 3rd in MLB in wins, including more than the Yankees, who were Trueblood's 'consistent excellence' barometer they were failing to meet. The short to medium term outlook isn't as good as it could or should be, and you can blame various proportions of ownership, the front office, and luck for that. But that frustration is creating a desire for some to downplay what they actually achieved.
  10. Ohh, you were saying that Shakhtar normally does better than the average minnow because of Eastern European logistics instead of actually being better, I took it as explaining RM's performance today. Reading is hard!
  11. I would be very surprised if Madrid doesn't advance but I was under the impression Shakhtar is usually problematic because of the travel and weather more than because they are actually that strong. I just don't see BM or Inter being strong enough to both outrun RM. For the life of me, I don't understand what Zidane has against Vinicious. Today's game was in Madrid, and Shakhtar was missing half their roster due to Covid positives. It would be safe to bet on RM advancing still, but dropping their easiest fixture in a competitive group out of the gate isn't great for them either.
  12. With Inter and Gladbach in their group, that could be a really bad result. Only saving grace is neither is a megaclub and Shakhtar isn't your typical UCL minnow so it's likely the group has more dropped points from beating each other up.
  13. I won't stand for this Ethan Horvath erasure.
  14. Silver lining, now i can go from hating Jordan Pickford because he’s annoying and overrated to hating him because he’s annoying, overrated, and dirty.
  15. To add on to Wolf's note, apparently the 'ear marked' is more or less a part of his pro contract with RBNY, so if that's true then Clark will be moving to Germany in 2022 at age 18. In other young US attacking midfielder news, the worst kept transfer secret in MLS got announced, with Brenden Aaronson going to RB Salzburg in January for 6 million(with escalators to 9 million). All we need now is for Pomykal to get healthy and maybe some good news out of Ledezma and Mendez and we'll really be rolling.
  16. I can still hear the clanking sound.
  17. Last offseason four SP got 5+ years: Cole, Strasburg, Wheeler, and Bumgarner. Only Cole, Strasburg, Wheeler, and Ryu got 20+M AAV, regardless of length. I struggle to think Stroman is going to get within a thousand miles of 5/100 given that he has just one good season in the last 3 because of injury, ineffectiveness, and opting out of 2020. Plus he's turning 30 next year and has always had an uphill perception battle because he's small.
  18. I hope Tommy recovers, and it sounds like he was bit of a victim of circumstance, but yesterday if I had to answer the question “which MLB player just got stabbed in an argument outside a strip club”, Tommy probably would’ve been at the top of the list.
  19. [tweet]https://twitter.com/sung_minkim/status/1315662096588173312[/tweet]
  20. I love signing Japanese/Korean players as much as anyone, and I did not live through the 2020 offense like many here did, but I wouldn't have put right handed infielder very high on the shopping list for this offseason.
  21. wonder what Frank de Boer's next coaching job will be, at his current trajectory Netherlands will fail to qualify and then he'll get offered the Bayern Munich job
  22. Totally irrational on my part but, currently, its seems as if every team in baseball except, of course, the Cubs, is able to find and develop these hard tossing relievers. If every other team manages to do so it can't be all that difficult. I think it's both. The Cubs failed at pitching development for several years, and thankfully there's some signs that they've turned things around in that regard. That said, Dustin May was pick #101 and got 2x his draft pool to sign, so getting those guys is rarely as simple as digging around in the metaphorical trash. Or if you are, you get guys the Cubs have surfaced, like Norwood for example.
  23. 450 feet on the wild card river HR? Yeah okay sure
  24. At one point I think they wanted to, but they aren't now: https://sbisoccer.com/2020/09/usmnt-to-forgo-for-playing-matches-in-october-fifa-window I believe the hope is to have a mostly/all European based roster play a couple November friendlies in Europe.
  25. Richards with some nice crosses, an assist to Mueller was ruled offside(on Muller) by a couple inches, and he found Lewandowski’s head to force a great save right before a Bayern goal. Defensively, Lukebakio is getting the better of him 1v1 but Hertha dont seem to be picking on him.
