  1. Personally, I just laugh, and then fall deeper into despair.
  2. Call me crazy, but aren't Patterson's goals and the team's goals aligned, that is, success? This isn't basketball where someone says they're going to look out for themself and hoist 50 shots a game to the detriment of the team.
  3. How could you pass up studs like Teyo and Koren? Gotta save something for the waiver wire. Shouldn't you be signing Alex Smith right now? No, I only go for Smiths that are good. And btw, I'll give you any player you want from my team during the offseason if Stallworth has over 800 receiving yards this year. It's in print now. Holt's going to look real good next to Owens. Don't get too excited. There is a greater chance that he is going to get injured and sit out half of the games than get 800 receiving yards. Like last year when he played every game and was 32 yards short of 800?

  6. Speaking of which, what hat is Furcal wearing? It looks like half of the pi sign.
  7. Everyone realizes you started making stuff up 5 posts ago.
  8. With my final pick, the piece that will surely propel me to a championship, I'll take Jeff Wilkins.
  9. like if a boat falls on to the field? I laughed at this.
  10. Pedro needs to get rocked, I'm facing him in my fantasy league's playoffs.
  11. What, you think going 2 for 5 with a HR warrants more playing time? He can't hit for power.
  12. Thanks! Interesting, Greenberg doesn't seem to have much of a platoon split, although his numbers against LHP are a pretty small sample.
  13. Mr. Potesta, would you mind telling me what Adam Greenberg's numbers were this year vs. Right handed pitching, and vs. left handed pitching? If you have the info for last year as well it would be much appreciated as well.
  14. Where is the "throw-up in my mouth" thread? Preston is no better than Burnitz, and Burnitz isn't any good. He's a $2 million 4th OF at best. I hate Wilson, and was never a fan of Burnitz, but consider the position. A .775 OPS out of CF is slightly above average. Now in Wilson's case it comes with a ton of K's, little OBP, and subpar defense, so I'd pass.
  15. Wilson is 6th of 17 qualified CF's in OPS. EDIT: I'm going to see what his numbers are away from Coors this year. EDIT2: Away from Coors, he's put up a .240/.314/.441/.755 That OPS would be 10th of 17.
  16. I'm not sure what the incentives are, but I think managerial incompetence has more to do with Neifi being at the top of the order than an extra PA or so to get him incentives.
  17. I am so sick of stop gap OF's. Hendry has to trade or sign an impact corner OF or 2006 will be just like 2005. Absolutely. To clarify, I was referring to CF, and think Giles is a must in RF, and would like a trade for an impact bat in LF, otherwise Murton gets the job.
  18. BTW, it's a 10 team keeper league.
  19. It boggles my mind why somebody would want to sign J. Jones, who isn't much of an offensive CF himself. He's making $5 million now, and could easily demand $7+ in this market. I don't think either Corey or Jones is a good option. Wow, Jones has really tanked the last month. Even with that though, his numbers are about middle of the pack for CF. It would depend on the money and length of course, but if we're looking for that stopgap type player I mentioned earlier, he seems to be the only FA that fills the bill.
  20. I agree with everything you said except CPatt. Why would you want someone on the roster who is completely healthy & has a .260 OBP & has 19 walks & 103 K's in limited AB's? I don't get it! Because he's capable and has put up much better numbers in the past, in addition to stellar defense. My problem is that I don't think you can go into next season with Murton, Cedeno, and Patterson all holding down starting jobs. There's just too much potential for disaster there. Now I'm not saying sign anyone and everyone to make sure they aren't there, but I'd be much more active in the trade market trying to get an outfielder. If I'm able to get a stud corner OF, I could live with Patterson/Cedeno in the 7 and 8 holes. If you make a deal for a stud CF, I'd probably be okay with Cedeno and Murton in the lineup. If Nomar is back and healthy, I could be alright with Patterson and Murton in the OF. Ideally though, you'd sign Giles to play RF, sign(maybe trade for) a stopgap CF(J. Jones?) to play good defense with decent CF output to bridge to Pie(the contract would be 2 years or 1+option so that they can phase in Pie if he struggles), and make a trade for a highly productive LF(the names have been said before, Dunn, Wilkerson, Huff, Gomes, Kearns, etc.). That way your outfield troubles are solved, and you still have the cost effective option at SS.
  21. I'm telling ya, you're gonna want that Pawelek, on the list.
  22. I predict 5 BBs for the entire team for the entire tournament. Pujols, Manny, and Ortiz walk a good deal.
