  1. I'm surprised it's that close. Here's last year's: Dunn- 32 total 30.3 hitting/1.5 fielding Wilkerson- 22 total 18.9 hitting/3.4 fielding
  2. wilkerson strikes out alot but he also walks alot 106 bb/152 k's in 04. Sarcasm is fun. Sulley loves walks so much his first born's name is going to be B.B. That was lame. :P You're just mad that I posted it first.

  4. I laughed hardest at this. Well done.
  5. Wow. I don't think you want to open up an immaculate conception didn't actually happen debate. Pfft. Don't even pretend the immaculate convection oven isn't real.
  6. Way to go Dusty, you're the best.
  7. Dunn every day of the week. Wilkerson is still solid, especially for a CF, but he's not near Dunn's production. This has been a down year for Wilkerson though, maybe we can nab him on the cheap.
  8. I don't know who I'd build around per se, but how the offseason goes is pretty fluid from my POV. I think signing Giles or trading for someone of similar caliber is a must. Much like CubinNY, I'd quietly shop Lee to see what kind of return he would gather. See how much LA would give up in a multi-team deal to get Lee on their hands. Test Bowden's stupidity to see if he'd give up Johnson, Wilkerson, and something else. What you do for the OF, SS, and pen all depend on each other really.
  9. I think Fontenot should be on the MLB bench next year. The guy's got an 800+ OPS as a second baseman, and a .158 IsoP, which isn't bad at all for an infielder. I really haven't heard anything either way defensively, other than that he plays 2B and 3B. Plus he takes a ton of walks and his OPS is more OBP driven than most. I think he's pretty valuable all in all, and will be very upset if he gets removed.
  10. Clemens has taken back a slight lead in VORP, and him and Carpenter both have a sizable lead in that category over Dontrelle.
  11. Could the Yanks make up 4 on the White Sox?
  12. Is Looper hurt, or did he lose velocity? He's had a rough month, but 6 bad innings doesn't change the fact that he's been at least decent for the rest of '05.
  13. I would gladly trade Walker + Hill for Hunter + Crain; and then turn around and spin Hunter + cash + Brian Dopirak to Florida for Juan Pierre. Crain is an excellent reliever. So, let me get this straight. You'd trade Todd Walker, Rich Hill, Brian Dopirak and cash for Jesse Crain and Juan Pierre? The Cubs are getting ripped off big time there. Todd Walker is unneeded (Cedeno), Rich Hill is a one-trick pony, and Dopirak looks like a bust. In exchange, I get a leadoff man and a setup man for my bullpen. Yeah, I'd do those trades. Cubs aren't getting ripped off at all. A top 5 offensive 2B is always needed. Whether or not Hill or Dope look like they'll pan out doesn't mean to throw them into any deal. Pierre is awful, his OBP is like 12 points lower than Hunter's this year.
  14. Guillen is the guy I wanted instead of Burnitz last offseason. :( He'd be a good pickup, but I hope he wouldn't be our "big splash". Getting Guillen in conjunction with Giles would be great.
  15. Which ones? The TV guys are pretty blase, and Hamilton goes from decent to irritating depending on my mood. Of course, I can't keep the radio and TV guys straight anymore.
  16. Weren't there multiple newspaper reports in the offseason about the Braves wanting Farnsworth?
  17. In retrospect maybe. Now that we have seen that Pitt is completely awful. Initially, you had to be impressed with back to back wins on the road vs ranked teams. Michigan was top 5. That's more impressive than an OT win @ ND when some of their luster has faded after we found out that Pitt is a joke. It's a double edged sword. It all ends up working out in the end. The voters knew Pitt was a joke when they moved up ND that high since Pitt lost to Ohio before the Michigan game. My point is that they can move ND high enough and drop Michigan low enough so that ND is higher than them in both polls after that victory, but not do the same when MSU beats ND.
  18. I think she was referring to Cable companies dropping WGN, forcing people to pay to see those games. I haven't heard anything about it, and it certainly would've been noticed by someone around here if it was announced.
  19. Notre Dame went from unranked to 10/12 in the polls after winning in Michigan, who fell to 14/14. Michigan State wins in Notre Dame, and goes from being unranked to 17/22, while ND drops to 16/18. That seems to be a contradiction of logic.
  20. The Red Sox have already put him on waivers at least once. I think it's pretty clear they are willing to give him away. That's true, but the more time that goes by, the more manageable his contract becomes going forward. Just because they put him on waivers last year doesn't mean they'll be willing to do the same with another 20 million already paid to him.
  21. Like Atlanta, right? With, what, 7 rookies? Maybe it comes down to COACHING.... Coaching, and the ability of the players as well.
  22. You don't think that the offense would be better with Murton in LF for a full year, and a middle IF with Walker, Nomar and Cedeno? Consider what our middle IF was this season for long stretches? Cedeno isn't the starter in that situation. Also, for the improvement made from Neifi to Nomar, Lee is likely to regress, removing some of that advantage.
  23. The uncertainty with Murton is why we can't go into next season with him, Patterson, and Cedeno all in the same lineup. One is fine, two would be okay under the right circumstances, but all 3 would virtually guarantee a lack of improvement on offense.
  24. Wouldn't you want the walk so that you get to the better hitter at the top of the order?
