  1. YOU ARE SANDY ALOMAR, YOUR GREAT GRANDSON IS IN DOUBLE A BALL STOP GETTING HITS
  2. Funny how the Marshall Bashers are silent now. I didn't even realize there were Marshall BashersTM
  3. crimeny, YOU'RE SANDY ALOMAR just pop out and sit down already
  4. Marshall, those are the guys you're supposed to get out. You know, the ones with the bats in their hands.
  5. Alright, I'll be the one that says it. Clutch hitting is a myth. Let the fireworks commence.
  6. [sigh] I haven't paid attention in Calc 2 for a month and I have a quiz tomorrow, please don't begrudge me my simple enjoyments, it's going to be a long evening.
  7. They're all better hitters than Jeter(well, the vast majority since rocket just went down the OPS list and there are a few exceptions), that's why the team is better off with them up there. Also, in case you missed it in previous posts... Career playoffs A-Rod: .305/.393/.534/.927 Jeter: .306/.376/.462/.838 Close and Late, Last 3 Years A-Rod: .276/.392/.553/.945 Jeter: .249/.352/.392/.744
  8. The Cavs get to 50 wins by hanging on against Atlanta! And New York is going to beat New Jersey which means the Cavs get screwed out of the 3 seed! Fantastic!
  9. Why were you upset that he went with Bynum as the pinch runner? Jones is coming off a leg injury. Bynum also ended up scoring. I thought it was a good call, and not just because it worked out. I'm not going to crucify Dusty for sticking with Ohman there. I agree it's damned if you do, damned if you don't. I really haven't had much to be upset with Dusty about so far this season. I think he's been managing this team pretty good, so far. Even with Jones being hurt, he's not slow, and the upgrade in speed is offset by the fact that Jones is a vastly superior defender. Plus since it was the 7th inning, there was a good chance that spot was going to come up again, which let the black hole Bynum make a quick out instead of the guy with two hits on the day.
  10. I could easily think of several dozen hitters I'd rather have up than Jeter.
  11. I can't blame Dusty for going to Ohman, although Dempster should've been the guy ready to come in instead of Williamson. Not walking Drew, and especially pinch running with Bynum on the other hand, were moves that upset me.
  12. THE EDMONDS STEROIDS THREAD WAS A JOKE Not a single person in that thread "more or less accused" Edmonds of using steroids. With all of the Edmonds hating going on in here...how was I supposed to know? From the exact quotes I provided in the above post.
  13. Jon and Raisin are mods now, let's not give them reason to abuse their power and bring back the chit chat thread because they're threatened.
  14. I dunno, I remember Alou being upset that he didn't even get a call from Hendry or any courtesy interest even though they knew they weren't bringing him back.
  15. welcome! whereabouts in LA? Several guys around here hail from that area or....I could just pay attention to your screen name
  16. So you distinguish between "best hitter" and "best offensive player"? Seems unncessary to me.
  17. He had a not-so-good outing today. I added he and the Serg to my initial post. Everyone keeps tryin to bring Ricky down, I tell ya. EDIT: His ESPN page is wrong, only 2 of the runs today were earned so his ERA is 4.50.
  18. On Drew's GW hit? He wasn't playing that close to the RF line. There really was nothing he could do. The ball took a weird bounce too. I held my breath and hoped for a miracle throw/Lofton falling down, but the ball kicked directly away from Bynum.
  19. sometimes you have to take the game out of abstraction and look at what was going on in the game. big gigantic right handed hitter, Lowe burying sinker after sinker at the ankles and in the dirt, Navarro having trouble picking and even more trouble on the transfer, and the infield unable to hold Pierre close. if he goes, there is very little chance that he is thrown out. I agree with the original poster (although I do not agree that he should always have the green light). I don't know if it was a hit and run with Walker up or not, but Pierre should have been at second two or three pitches before that. I was speaking in general and not to that specific situation, I agree that circumstances define when it's appropriate to try to take 3rd.
