  1. Why would you do that There's a very delicate mojo at work here
  2. HE GAVE UP A HOMERUN TO MIGUEL CABRERA, NOT EXACTLY A ROOKIE. SO THE HELL WHAT!!! HE STILL GAVE UP 3 RUNS!! release Z plz
  3. I threw 40 pitches the other day and felt pretty good. I even mixed in an overhand curve near the end. The speed wasn't great, but I actually hit the zone pretty consistently. For some reason, though, I've always been able to hit a strike zone painted on a wall better than a catcher's mitt. I think I'll stick with the 4-seamer at the game, though. :D Real men throw the knuckle curve.
  4. He's struck out NINE!!!!!!! It's not about the strikeout. He's pitched poorly overall. I don't buy that this was a "quality start." He made some poor decisions on the mound and allowed himself to be beaten by their few good hitters (namely Cabrera). Like Meat&Potatoes with Ronnie, I call out your anti-Z bias! It's a quality start. 6 innings, 3 earned runs. I'll take it everytime. So you're okay with Z consistetnly with a 4.5 ERA? I'm not, not from him. There's a middle ground between being happy with the outing and being pissed off about it. No need to be upset with 6 IP 3 ER with the peripherals he has tonight.
  5. He was Corey Patterson before Corey Patterson was.
  6. As opposed to bouncing it home? Yeah. That's the point. Ronny's not trying to 8 hop it to the plate, but you're supposed to keep it low rather than overshoot it. You can always pick a ball that bounces, you can't do anything with a throw that goes over your head.
  7. whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA The goal is to get the ball to the player in the air? Huh.
  8. Emphatic no to Vizquel being in the Hall.
  9. He's talking about offering so we get draft picks if he leaves as a FA.
  10. Yeah, I'm not sure how you can think the Stros are on a similar plane to the Yankees.
  11. Lofton's power is a thing of the past. Only thing he does better than Pierre now is take walks. If you want to talk about the Lofton from 5 years ago, then yeah, he's a lot different from Pierre. Well, yeah, he's not comparing 39 year old Lofton to Pierre, he's comparing them when they were at the same point in their careers. And to further the Lofton-Pierre disparity, Pierre has cracked a 100 OPS+ just once in his career, while Lofton has been below 100 just 3 times in 14 seasons.
  12. Wright in his first full season put up a season better than Rolen's average(or on par with any season of Rolen's except 2004).
