I referred to him as Neifi Cedeno a few days ago. Cubs seem to be high on him. Probably like his Neifiesque tendencies. With the way Cedeno was hyped, I thought he'd have a little more plate discipline. Who was hyping Cedeno? He's never been able to take a walk. Yep. Many people didn't predict gaudy numbers from Ronny this year. Maybe better than a .668 OPS, but we'll have to see how the season progresses.
EPatt's really having a rough time in Pringles park. His splits through Wednesday.... Home: .238/.304/.286/.590, 93 PA's Road: .337/.387/.600/.987, 106 PA's
Because Dusty loves giving away outs. Ok is there something wrong with moving a runner over to third base with no outs? It gave the cubs a run. Who knows if baker allowed hairston to swing away and he pops up in the infield then you have 1 out and pierre stuck on 2b still. Walker then grounds out 4-3 now you have 2 outs with pierre on third. Then Barrett flys out so now the score is 0-0 instead of 1-0. That is why Baker had Hairston bunting Yep. Bunting people over has worked well for us this year. How many runs have we scored again? How many sac bunts have there been this year? Ok how many clutch hits has Hairston had this year? NONE. Im not sure what is wrong with playing with a early lead. I guess you guys just want to the cubs to fail Ummmmm... what? Yeah everytime im on NSBB i hear someone say i hope we lose. What is that about??? ANd know im hearing how bad of a play it was for Hairston to bunt that does not make any sense. People are hoping that if the Cubs aren't going to be good, then they should be really bad so the people that are causing them to be mediocre get fired. We already explained why bunting a man to third with no outs in the first inning is stupid. Outs are valuable and shouldn't be wasted this early, the guy will move over on a lot of outs anyway, and he will score on most hits anyway.
You are throwing away an out in the FIRST inning when the guy is already in scoring position and will score on just about any hit. Half the time an out you make on accident will move him over because of his speed. It's a terrible decision. With an anemic offense like the Cubs, an RBI groundout is much more likely than an RBI single. And with an anemic pitching staff like the Cubs, you need more than one run to win.

Seriously, I can't believe how widespread that term has gotten. And also, he hit him with his forearm, if he wanted to drill him he would've thrown an actual punch.
Neifi is an awful awful baseball player. But if you aren't going to get rid of him before yesterday, then you aren't going to get rid of him after yesterday too. Reactionary stuff like this is what got Williams and Wuertz sent down prematurely, and it doesn't do the team any good.
I think you change it based on rounds, i.e. group stage, round of 16, quarters, semis, finals I tinkered with it some and got the impression you change it daily.
Harvey is now at Juan Pierre levels of offensive futility. Iowa leads 3-1 after 7. O'Malley had a solid outing, Pie is 1 for 3 with a walk. Hoffpauir has 2 hits and Restovich has a double with a walk.
Andy Oliver(BA's #101 prospect) goes to HS about 10 minutes away from where I went to school. He never pitched against us when we played them(FTR, we were always better), but some of the kids I played with faced him and summer ball and weren't impressed. Also of note, the competition Oliver is facing is pretty terrible. The other big Ohio prospect from Walsh Jesuit is facing players that are worlds better.
