    Oh so close for Convey. I'm not much for analyzing players and style, but it really seemed that we played too many aerial balls that could've been put on the ground to play faster and make it easier on those receiving them.

    Is it safe to say you're a Mizzou fan? Just curious.... Yep, student. I'm a recent Nebraska grad. How's that Mizzou pitcher, Scherzer coming along? At one time, I think he was tabbed for a top 5 pick. Had some injury problems, but he's been plenty good in the 50 or so innings he's been out there. BA had him going near our pick in the first round.

    The Rangers picked up ~$50 million, depending on what part of his salary that applied to, and how much the Yanks would be willing to pick up of the remainder, it should be discussed. Although I'd remain on the sideline if it's the full contract (throw Pierre, Jones, Neifi, Rusch, Hendry and Baker together and I might talk). To my knowledge, the Yankees are paying: 2006- 19 mil 2007- 20 mil 2008- 19 mil 2009- 20 mil 2010- 21 mil

    I'm taking that as a challenge. Murton and Pierre have both hit home runs in each of their last 23 at bats. It's true. I didn't say false. I just said useless. The poor horse has been beaten so much that he's just a pile of mush Well the false information is even more useless. So there!

    I have a good feeling about Wood tonight. He's facing a lineup full of young and (for the most part) poor hitters, and he has a spacious ballpark if he makes a flyball mistake. Keep throwing strikes like last time and I think we'll see a real strong outing from Wood.

    Agreed. Funny how he can have ~150 less homers than Sammy and is practically guaranteed...and there are doubts about Sammy's ability to get in. Especially when Thomas has just as much evidence of steroid use pointing at him as Sammy does (which is to say, none). Sosa career: .274/.345/.537/.882, 129 OPS+ Thomas career: .307/.427/.568/.995, 161 OPS+ I'm not sure what those numbers are supposed to mean in the context of steroids, but it always amazes me how good those numbers are for a guy who doesn't get that much pub for being an all-time great. It was in the context of Thomas being a guaranteed HOFer while Sosa is in doubt.

    he's been bombed twice, but he did have an outstanding outing, so I'm not going to criticize him. 21 games this month so far. In 7 of those games, Cedeno went 13 for 29, Murton 10 for 24.
