  1. When Colvin is ready for the bigs, he will over-ride Murton IMO (but I highly doubt he'll even be with us by that point). murton or colvin? I think Murton will be gone by the time that Colvin is ready. Even if Murton is still here, he would probably take a back seat to Colvin.

  3. I'm sure someone will, plus you can follow the game on MiLB's Gamecast. The game isn't for another 6 hours though. I'm off to see Gooz pitch! Bold prediction: Gooz has a quality start with no offensive support and ends up getting a ND.
  4. After he was traded to Montreal/Washington and had TJS I thought he was out of baseball completely. He was the most surprising one of all the former Cubs I found. By Ice Man i meant Liecster Whoops, my bad. I don't really recall hearing that nickname for him. Since Beltran was a closer prospect, the nickname sounded more fitting for him. The nickname stems from his last name: Leicester. Makes sense I guess, Ice Man just seemed like a more fitting name for a closer.

  6. I didn't know if it would or not, that's why I asked. I understand that some users do just lurk, but the ones that I'm talking about are ones that haven't even visited the site in years.

  8. That's not necessarily a bad move. I would have traded him instead of dropping him. You know someone would see the no-hitter and pay a king's ransom for him.
  9. They've already got Jeter, and Izturis bat doesn't play anywhere. Especially not 3B.
  10. Zaun fractured his right thumb and will miss 6-8 weeks, so if this deal is to happen anytime soon he won't be part of it.
  11. His average is up to .239 now too. He's really starting to heat up right now as well. I really miss hearing "Swing and a Drive! Belted deep to right field!"
  12. Tim is there anyway that you can delete inactive accounts off of the servers, and if so would it make things any faster? I went through the member list and 4179 out of the 5960 registered users have never made a single post and 4758 have made less than 10 posts. There are dozens more haven't made a post in years. I think that if deleting these accounts would make any difference at all, then you should make a rule where account inactivity of 2 years or more gets your account deleted.
  13. Goony was locked out of his account after NSBB was hacked so he had to create a new account.
  14. Hopefully to rehab his status as a serious prospect. I know he's only 22 but if he can't hit .270+ and put up an OPS above .800 I have serious doubts he'll ever amount to much. Dunno about that .800+ OPS, especially in a pitcher's league like the SL and his poor eye. I guess anything would be an improvement over his .248/.290/.722 line from last year but at the very least I'd like to see him get the average up in the .270 range and his OBP above .300 for a change.
  15. Out of curiosity I just looked up Luis Montanez (who is hitting .318/.392/.915 through 13 games) and to my surprise, the Norfolk Tide also have former Cubbie prospects Jason Dubois and Francis Beltran on their roster. I found it interesting so I thought I'd share it with everyone else.

  17. And one more note confirming Murton's injury: That sounds like it has been ongoing. "Will get some playing time soon"= #2 pinch hitter behind Ward.
  18. An additional part of the Dante Hall trade is that the teams have switched 3rd round picks. There's no huge difference though since the picks are the 19th and 21st picks in that round.
  19. Cabrera is good enough that if you really did land him, Jones is expendable under any circumstance. If you had to cut Jones in order to squeeze in Miggy, then sorry, Jacque. That OF defense with Soriano in LF and Miggy in RF sure wouldn't be pretty, but I guess having Superman (Pie) in Cf along with the combined offense that an OF like that would bring I wouldn't mind it too much.
  20. Welcome back. Thanks. It's been a rough couple of days! Must have been, it's gonna suck when I miss 2-3 weeks of the action next month.
  21. Good day for me. The Cubs, Mavs, and Spurs all win.
  22. It never fails I guess. I just switched out Drew and put in Tulowitski at SS on one of my fantasy teams.
  23. GAME OVER!!!!!!!!!!! CUBS WIN!!!!!!!!!!CUBS WIN!!!!!!!!11
  24. I'm having Indiana Jones flashbacks with an umbrella where the Brewers crash our hopes right now.
