  1. ARam gave that ball a ride, I'm surprised that Jimmy boy didn't dive.
  2. Rolen grounded down the 3B line. ARam made a sweet backhanded scoop and threw it over to DLee who made a nice play to catch the ball.
  3. So does Jim Edmonds. /sorry Edmonds takes good routes to 5 feet away from the ball so that he can dive. Pie just makes it look easy out there.
  4. And Marquis walks a guy in front of Pujols.
  5. 3 K's for Reyes, atleast we had a slight bit of patience that inning.
  6. 5 actually, before he took a horrible cut and struck out.
  7. You're preaching to the choir here. Here's an interesting article on why the Raiders should no draft Russell. He compares Russell to Akili Smith. What FA or realistic trading options at QB are out there? I've heard McCown from the Lions or C-Pep. Neither of those are good options, imo. I agree with you that they should have grabbed Lienart last year. If I was a Raiders fan, I wouldn't be upset if they took a QB because honestly, they really need one. Edit: Could be totally wrong here but this is my impression from the outside looking in. Personally, I'd like to see them take Drew Stanton in the second round but wouldn't be disappointed with Trent Edwards either. Trent Edwards will be a better pro than Drew Stanton, imo. No west coast bias involved, right CR?
  8. Koufax is Jewish though, are you?
  9. Their take on Rodriguez:
  10. The Cubs have the 10th best "True Prospects" ranking, and surprisingly have the 3rd best true hitting prospects ranking (and equally shocking 25th for true pitching prospects).
  11. I sent some game tapes to a few teams, but since I'm not 3 years removed from high school I won't be eligible. Hopefully they can overlook that, I've got my phone sitting on the charger waiting for that call.
  12. The Packers have offered their 1st and 4th round picks in this year's draft to the Chiefs for Larry Johnson. There's no word on if the trade will actually happen or not, though.
  13. I have heard the same thing. From what I hear, Calvin and Russel both wanted 15% more than Williams got last year, and Quinn would take a lot less, close to what was paid last year for Williams. From what I've been hearing, the Raiders gave Quinn an offer that would be considered a low-ball offer for a 1st overall pick but would be better than what he'd get in the 7-9 range. If true, it is a smart move on the Raiders part. except for the part about DRAFTING BRADY QUINN I prefer Quinn over Russell, but if I were to Raiders I wouldn't take either of them (or CJ for that matter). They won't be able to do anything offensively until they get that OL straightened out, and Joe Thomas would be a good start to that. I can understand the hesitation to do so on their part because of Gallery, but I don't think you can let past failures influence your future too much.

  15. There is a rumor floating around that the Raiders have already come to agreement on a contract with Brady Quinn and will take him #1 overall.
  16. Biggest surprise of the first round and first day overall: Bears select Laurent Robinson in the first round....how many Bears fans would be jumping off cliffs after that happened?
  17. Yahoo's caption:
  18. Isn't Hunter known for being a jokester? He probably did that just to lighten the mood after what happened.
  19. Isn't he playing CF...Does he project as a CF or is he corner outfielder who hits like Murton....? He's been playing CF, and from all reports I've seen he's been a defensive stud out there. I don't see any reason why he couldn't stick in CF. As far as hitting goes, they're quite different. To me Murton is a linedrive/doubles kind of hitter with average speed. He's got good a good eye and OBP, but not a whole lot of pop. From what I've seen of Colvin he's more of a flyball hitter with much more power and also much better speed. He will strike out more and probably won't get on base as much as Murton will, but overall he's a much more dangerous player.
  20. Walrond reminds me of John Koranka quite a bit. He might have some initial success, but he won't be able to sustain it.
  21. In his 2nd start since returning from the DL Bartolo Colon went 7IP, 4 hits, 2ER, 11/1 K/BB.
  22. Buy low Jim! Izturis and/or Cedeno for Wood.
  23. Neither did I, his injury just puts the nail in coffin for this rumor.
