  1. Kershaw never pitched on short rest. Game 2 was short rest, 6 was an extra day of rest. Game 2 was on 4 days rest from his previous start. It was 2 days rest from his relief appearance.
  2. Cubs might have gone 161-0 if Schwarber played all year.
  3. Won't be a game 7 so only see him once more. which I also believe, but I don't understand why people think it's such a good thing that Francona would ride him like that if it does happen to go 7. he doesn't have to be as dominating as he was last night to still be really [expletive] good Yeah, I don't expect short rest Kluber to even be as bad as Kershaw was the 2nd time around. I think he could still put up a quality start or at worst a 5 IP, 2 -3 ER type of game. And with the potential of Miller and Allen the last 4, the Cubs still need a strong pitching performance to beat him.
  4. Schwarber just missed that. That was a hittable slider for strike 3.
  5. That's how it works when you're on a board full of people that want the Cubs to win. I just hate the super overreactionary stuff. It's terrible and annoying when Ski and Rondon Fan do it in the regular season and it's annoying now. I get people are frustrated. I'm frustrated also. But the posts that are suggesting the ump is singlehandedly costing the Cubs the game are ridiculous and wrong. Just because the ump blows a call or two doesn't mean that he's the worst ump ever. And just because he blows one call doesn't mean he's blowing every close pitch. You can't tell what's a strike on the screen because of the angle. People have pointed out in previous games and in this one that FOX's zone on the screen sometimes sucks (like the one where the top of the zone was clearly below the batter's belt). Barely anyone has given Kluber any sort of credit for pitching a great game, which is what he's done. And barely anyone has acknowledged that Lester is a bit off tonight. The problem isn't balls being called strikes for Kluber. It's balls being called strikes for Kluber, and balls in the same spot not being called strikes for Lester. Which is something you can see on the screen. And a ton of people have given Kluber credit. And literally nobody has implied that the ump is singlehandedly costing the Cubs the game.
  6. There's your bad call to help the Cubs if there ever was one.
  7. Yes, down to getting beat the F down the next time he pitches.
  8. You're being a bit of a turd here tonight Sorry I'm not overreacting like the rest of you. Everyone says eff the umpires and bring on robot umps but when you present data from robot umps, it gets ignored or brushed off. I've been following on Gameday also. Go through there and look at the pitches Kluber's getting. They're largely correct. Yes, the ump has missed a couple. But he's missed some that hurt Cleveland also but that gets ignored. That's how it works when you're on a board full of people that want the Cubs to win.
  9. What has happened to you? You really took that soccer comment in the Schwarber thread seriously. It's like you're being intentionally anti-Cub. It's probably not as bad as we're making it out to be with the calls....but what is your purpose of this post? Be pissed off too, this is the biggest game we've ever seen.
  10. Agreed. He should have totally done something with 2 pitches that were out of the zone that he correctly took.
  11. Those pitches aren't horsefeathering strikes!!!!!!
  12. Seriously, this isn't a Tuesday night game in July. This is the world series. If there was a time to allow people to overreact..... There's overreacting on how these calls are affecting our chances to win this game, but to imply this is the end of our long run is pretty over the top. Plus, not the best track record. He didn't imply that at all.
  13. It's three innings into game 1 please just stop. Seriously, this isn't a Tuesday night game in July. This is the world series. If there was a time to allow people to overreact.....
  14. I'm not even that upset. Lester wasn't that off, and they got a cheap ass hit and HBP to score.
  15. They aren't gonna score. I'm just worried about the pitch count.
