  1. It’s gonna be Jake/Lester short rest. Q regular rest Lester 3 days rest from 3.2 innings of relief Hendricks regular rest (also puts him in line for Game 7) Arrieta
  2. I think he's suggesting Javy try to bunt for a hit. If he reaches there is 2 on and 0 out and you can lift Lester if needed Yeah I suggest him bunting for a hit, which he’s good at and hope at worst it ends up a sacrifice. Then you lift Lester there in place of Schwarber or Seal Boy. Eh. I'm not going to fault Joe for that. Once Lester came in, you have to commit to using him for more than the 1 inning he pitched to that point. Because it's not like you can use him tomorrow either way. You could fault him for not double switching out Zobrist at that point (can't really fault him for not switching out Russell who made the last out the previous inning), but then you have to put Schwarber in the OF defensively. And it's not like he showed anything against Strasberg in Game 1.
  3. I know they had decent seasons, but it makes me irrationally upset when Turner, Wieters, or Taylor get a hit, or get on base, or make the pitcher throw more than 3 pitches.
  4. Gonna be awesome when the team that just needed to beat Strasburg and Scherzer 1 time beat them all 3 times.
  5. These things in particular are par for the course with the Bears the past couple years. On the few times they do seem to put a drive together, they usually get a holding call to stall it and then follow it up with some 5 yard penalty to take them out of FG range. Yep. 100% of Fox. When you have a severe lack of talent vs. every team you face you can't make stupid mistakes like that. So many points left on the board. Obviously 7 from the Howard TD. At least 3 on the 1st drive. Granted, those 10 points would have meant no fake punt TD, but also would have meant a defense pinning their ears back with a double digit lead early against first an injured, then a mediocre QB.
  6. To be clear, I'm perfectly fine with how Trubisky played last night. I don't give him much of the blame for last night. - Holding call on 1st drive, took away a big pass play and a trip inside the 10 turned into a punt. - Delay of game because Fox couldn't decide whether to punt or not, despite having a full timeout to talk about it. From 4th and 2 where a conversion likely means 3 points in the future, instead a punt. - Howard TD called back, went from 7 points to a punt because of penalties. - OPI on McBride was a pretty shitty call, but even if it's not called, he dropped the damn ball. - Averaged over 9 yards to go on 3rd down, with 7 of 13 of them over 10 yards.
  7. I was wrong in thinking that Trubisky would make the talent around him better. The OL would be better not blocking for a statue. The WRs would A) get open more because of Trubisky's lateral movement in and out of the pocket or B) wouldn't have to get open as much because Trubisky's ability to throw accurately in tight windows. The run game would be more productive as teams couldn't play 9-man boxes against Howard and Cohen. The playcalling would open up with a more talented QB and we would really see what Loggains can do as an OC. I don't know if I overestimated Trubisky or underestimated the pure trash associated with this team. I won't go as far to say that Trubisky will be "ruined" or anything like that. But I think I may have been a little premature in wanting him on the field with this mess, coached by these coaches.
  8. 2 goals in their first 4 shots again.
  9. I would have started Jay. Don't like Happ in this series. Not any good matchups for him, IMO.
  10. Ha. I never would have brought him out for the 6th. But to be fair, he has been pretty dominant except for like 2 batters. Monty, Edwards, and Davis then let's go home.
  11. Never any doubt. Wish he would've gotten Taylor though.
  12. Kyle start the 7th? I'd say 100% yes unless they get to his spot in the order this inning. Monty in the pen, because I'd rather he than Edwards if runners get on.
  13. Don't care about his pitch count anymore, now that they got 2 off him. He can pitch 9 and take the L.
  14. Good. I need sweeps so Monday's game starts at 530, so I don't miss half of it during my commute.
