  2. You seem to be actually rooting for Mitch to be bad. Continues to be so odd. You were most vocal about Cutler coming back last year, yet seem to be anxious to criticize Mitch in his 2nd season. He's not playing poorly at all. He made one bad play. He's made multiple horrible plays. A goofy lateral to nothing. The two passes to an open Robinson, the endzone pick followed by a near turnover at the line. He's a moron. I'm annoyed that an otherwise talented team is held back by a dumb QB. Cutler was risky, but the alternative was not scoring any points. How are they being held back? What's their record if he was miraculous every game? Probably still 10-4, maybe 11-3 if you give them week 1, but that's a stretch. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk

  4. I think it's a huge difference between maintaining a bye and getting a bye. If the Rams lose this week (they won't it's Arizona) and the Bears win, then yeah you play to keep the bye. If the Bears need to win and the Rams to lose in week 17, then I think you play backups. I don't think you can risk injury against the very team you'd play the next week if you aren't guaranteed a win gets you a bye. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  5. Uh, you do know that all but 2 games are predetermined, right? Each division rotates which division in their own and the opposite conference that they play in entirety every year (8 games). 6 division games. And the other 2 games they play the team that finishes in the same place in the other 2 divisions in the same conference as the team does in their own. Pretty sure he knows. I figured he did. Just making sure.
  6. Regardless of what happens with New Orleans and LA Rams, I think this is the last meaningful regular season game for the Bears. Even if a bye is on the line, I don't know that you can risk playing valuable players against the team that A) would be your first round opponent and B) took a cheap shot on your QB last time they played and have even more incentive to do something dirty again.

  8. Not my favorite call of the season. Fine with going for it, run an actual offensive play though.
  9. This is a really important game for Mitch. I've been pretty unconcerned about his dud games this year. And honestly, the games he's looked the worst (IMO) the Bears have either won or lost because they blew a 23-3 lead in the 4th quarter. But at this point in the season, they probably aren't winning games that he's not good. I think this week will go a long way to determining if this team will have to Grossman its way thru the playoffs or if they have a legit shot to do some damage. The other times Mitch has had national media and Bears fans alike wondering if he was the guy, he came out with the dominant performances against Tampa, Miami, Detroit. After his previous dud, he missed 2 games. So, how he performs in a clinch situation will go a long way to helping ease some of the concerns I personally have with him.
  10. Shout out to James Daniels and Bryan Witzman who held Aaron Donald to 1 tackle, 1 assist, and 1 QB hit. Daniels seemed to have him primarily and he got help from Whitehair, RBs, Leno, etc. But he clearly got the brunt of it and held his own. A lot of it was him just allowing Donald to aggressively go upfield in "pass rush mode", and then running the ball underneath him. But in pass protection, Donald was kept mostly at bay. Rarely heard him or Suh's names.
  11. Yep. Figured the Bears would have to score 27-30 to win. Knew the Rams wouldn't run up 30+ in this weather. But figured they'd get into the endzone multiple times at worst.
  12. I didn't do the math yet, but I knew if the Bears won it would be close.
  13. No. Redskins still a factor mathematically. Logically, they are starting Mark Sanchez or a guy they just signed Tuesday for the rest of the season.
  14. That was pretty terrible.
  15. Just for S&Gs, I'd playaction deep 1st play
  16. Wonder if that was done on purpose.
  17. Only 1 TO for the Rams, could come into play if they score and it takes more than 3-4 minutes.
  18. 100% the right move to not let mitch throw 3rd and 9.
  19. Got away with a hold at the POA.
  20. Big drive for Mitchell here.
  21. Greg the Leg didn't practice at Soldier Field this week!
  22. He’s not a finished project at least. When he’s been good he’s been pretty damn good. He’s hit some really tough throws. Can’t really tell you why he completely falls apart at times but I certainly still have a considerable amount of hope that he puts it together I’m not giving up on him, but the fact is this is no longer a developmental year for the Bears. We need good quarterback play to get to the playoffs and do something once we get there. No, to the first part. The Bears are going to the playoffs. 2nd part isn't even a given. There's several recent examples of defense carrying teams to the Superbowl.
