This is an interesting matchup. I read an article from the Philly perspective that this is probably the best potential matchup they could have had. They lost to Dallas twice this year already. They have a playoff experienced team going against a team with next to none. They have a playoff proven backup QB vs. a guy everyone is convinced sucks. Bears have home field, but the outdoor and weather advantage they would have had over the Vikings is not there. The Eagles have some pieces on the OL in Kelce, Johnson and Peters who have the pedigree to block the Bears upfront. They have veteran pieces on the DL (Long, Bennett, Cox, etc) who could give the Bears OL some trouble. And the coaches are from the same coaching tree, so the creative plays should be less so in this one. These teams are kind of mirror images of each other in a lot of ways. But the Bears are younger, faster, and simply better across the board. They're just as hot and should be able to win this game based on those facts. Ertz worries me some and Tate has historically given the Bears problems. But a healthy Jackson and the ILB duo (Trevathan was hurt last year's matchup) will go a long way to easing those concerns.

Trubisky was 8-10 for 119 yards on 3rd down passing. He converted on 6 of those 10 third downs, with the only two non-conversions being a 9-yard completion on 3rd and 10, and a 5-yard completion on 3rd and 15 which came after he completed a 25-yarder which was wiped out by a bogus holding call on Kevin White. Also does not include him running for a conversion on 3rd and 5. None of the other 3rd down conversions were under 6 yards. Trubisky had a really good game, that isn't necessarily reflected statistically. And he's been that good for the last 3 weeks. He also hasn't lost a game since October 21st.

Really would prefer the 1pm slot. Also of note, if the Bears win next weekend, they'd play the following Saturday night in LA.

Yeah. They aren't going to make a west coast team play a 10am game their time. I know the league screwed over the Bears earlier in the season when they flexed them to Sunday night before the Thanksgiving game, but if the Colts win tonight I have a hard time believing they’ll make a road Sunday night team play the first playoff game on Saturday. Well, they are making the Chargers play a 10am LA time game.

It's believed to be Sunday 1pm start. Reports came out that FOX will be in Chicago for the early game Sunday. I hope so. Joe Buck mentioned he assumed he would do Bears-Eagles. If I had to guess Saturday 3pm Colts/Titans vs Houston Saturday 7pm. Seattle vs Dallas Sunday noon Eagles vs Bears Sunday 330pm Chargers vs Ravens Yeah. They aren't going to make a west coast team play a 10am game their time.

Mark of a really good team. Really good teams blow out their fair share of teams, and they only lose close games. The only other team without a loss by more than 7 is the Chiefs (Saints lost Week 1 by 8). Interestingly enough, the Bears and Chiefs both have losses by 1, 3, 3, and 7 points.

I think the worst case scenario is actually trying and getting beat, which is conceivable in a road game against a good team. Granted getting them at home the next week, but I'd rather have them coming off fake momentum of beating second stringers rather than beating the Bears straight up. Didn't realize this but Mitch has won 7 starts in a row. Conceivably would be 8 straight for him and 9 for the team had he played vs the Giants. In those 7 games, he's had 4 QB ratings over 100. In the 3 games he wasn't that good, the defense didn't allow a TD in the first 54 minutes of the game. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk

Wow.. Yea I don't know how much the FS/SS thing matters. Fwiw, Amos was listed as the FS yesterday and Bush the SS. A claiming team on Swearinger has control left too? Forgetting this year, could be a cheap Amos plug for next year? Yes. And I'd love to have him for next year. Though I'd imagine the Bears won't go after him. 4th team in 6 years. They won't tolerate bad mouthing the team. That being said, someone will claim him with a worse record than the Bears. Amos did play FS yesterday. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk Vikings haven't beaten a team with a winning record since beating the Eagles like week 4, who didn't have a winning record then. I'd be fine with playing to win if it was any team but the Vikings. I understand that the Bears are in a situation that if they win, they don't have to worry about playing them a week later. But they are a talented team, especially defensively and I'm really leery about them having a really good pass rush and Mitch's willingness to run and put his body in danger against the team that hurt him earlier this year. Just doesn't seem worth it when you could go all out to win, and either win and it doesn't matter (Because the Eagles also lose and the Rams win) or lose and have to figure out how to beat the team that legitimately beat you the week before.

But it's not. Even if was, it would pale in comparison to the importance of the week after. After 2 key guys going down last week, scares from Robinson, Fuller and Hicks today, and another late hit to Trubisky....the most important thing is getting to the real important game. Also have to factor in not showing a prospective opponent anything they could use the following week. I'm not saying tank the game, but there's no way guys like Trubisky, Mack, Robinson, Hicks or Jackson should play. I'd probably sit at least 1 of my starting CBs too. Start Daniel and have a pretty vanilla gameplan on offense.

It’s guaranteed to mean something for Minnesota, at least at kickoff And for the Bears they will still be alive for the bye at kickoff Forgot PHilly won. They were down late and I had it in my mind already that the Vikings clinched. Bears will be alive for a bye, but they need help. SF just beat Seattle and held their own with the Bears but even without Gurley, they'll be hard pressed to beat the Rams in LA. The Bears probably have to put forth too much effort for it to be worth it vs. a desperate Vikings team just to possibly still not get a bye.

Yeah you would have. A lot of easy, one-read throws. Obviously, the fumble was bad but nothing wrong with his throws all day, unless you're counting one that league record books don't even count. One of his incompletions was to Robinson toward the sidelines and I think Robinson dove prematurely (I also thought Robinson could have ran through the deep ball too and scored).
