  1. And this is why you keep Maples.
  2. Wait...why would I add batting average to OPS?
  3. His delivery is really different on those pitches.
  4. I bet that *at least* ties records for most HR in your first two ab's and RBI in your first two ab's. I feel confident in this bet if anyone wants to take it.
  5. Fruity...Futrell...Fruity...Futrell... Hi Devin! Or is it Devin's dad? Brother?
  6. Illinois is a really fun team this year. We're going to lose a lot, though. Who do we have coming in for the fall?
  7. I think that part of it is that with only five players drafted last year for most teams, there are smaller numbers of players at that level.
  8. Probably because it will take more than that to trade for him.
  9. Justin Turner and 1 of Odorizzi, Walker or Jake would be the only thing where I could see that we could come away with as good or better of a team with moving Bryant then using the money to add stuff. Turner back to the Dodgers is the report - 2 years $34M is what I saw
  10. I blame the beer for causing me to misread that
  11. I'm guessing he means to say "starting pitcher"
  12. Just kidding! They're fun to watch. I think the problem they have going forward is that they're loaded with a whole bunch of decent young talent, but they lack the young star-level talent.
  13. You guys excited about Arozarena this year?
  14. As a bitter Illini fan, I just want to throw it out there that Iowa sucks rocks. I'm not just talking the school. The entire state, from the governor on down through the racist congressmen and on. But let's just start with their basketball program and work from there.
  15. Yup. That 5 years was just a huge chunk of history when you think about it. Huge. lol - hi cards fans. Glad you weren't in DC on the 6th.

On the other hand they're moving on from the most blue lives matter guy on the team, which is cool. Also, he did some cool things but his legendary status is more theoretical than real. Isn't he still tied as the all-time leader in post-season HR for the Cubs? but, yeah, point taken.
  17. Well, damn.
  18. I think the primary mistake you guys are making is that you're planning to watch baseball this year.
  19. So...how bad does it get this year?
  20. The defense has been overmatched. The offense has been even worse.
  21. I think we're going to discover quickly that Subban isn't the answer in goal.
  22. Am I wrong to get the impression that the Bears front office is one of the smaller ones in football? I have no idea where I'm recalling that from. Instead of a change in leadership, should we add additional people there to introduce new voices and skills? Maybe someone that, I don't know, understands how to evaluate quarterbacks?
  23. lol I'd much rather be the Bears than Detroit.
  24. Yeah LT is calculated by full guaranteed dollars over full guaranteed years. So he’s a $18 mil hit a year guy for 3 years then “free” in year 4. Looks like they’re just valuing short term actual cash outlay over everything. That option/buyout doesn’t make any sense otherwise. huh...can multiple option years be done this way? If so, then bye-bye luxury tax. Just structure all years past year 1 in a contract this way.
