Glad Shaw is doing the right thing - he's had a scary amount of concussions over the years. How does this impact next year? I forget if Shaw was a pending FA or if he had one more year. Will he be "retiring" onto the LTIR? Or is he actually retiring?

So the Cubs are up to 24th in live fWAR with a total of 1.3 across their entire offense. Bryant has 0.9 on his own. Contreras has over half the total at 0.7. Baez & Rizzo each have 0.4. The rest of the team is at -1.1 They're taking the "stars & scrubs" approach a bit too far.
