  1. Duffy made the last out by striking out with Bryant in scoring position the other day. Bote > Duffy. Plus all the stuff I posted a couple days ago.
  2. I'll just throw this here... While I'm absolutely thrilled with Kimbrel's performance so far this year, it does bother me that he's got that incredibly obvious sticky substance on the brim of his hat that he goes to before every pitch. Dude - make it a little more subtle, that's all I ask.
  3. Damn - Tepera has been awesome lately.
  4. I admit I had become a big doubter on Steele over the years. But he's been money.
  5. Yep - and he can't find the strike zone after pitching like once in three weeks.
  6. That happens when Javy, Rizzo & Heyward are all injured.
  7. I wonder if Maples will finally get some work in this game.
  8. That said, Duffy does seem like a better matchup against Scherzer.
  9. Prior to this season, Duffy's best xwOBA is .313 Prior to this season, Bote's worst xwOBA is .319 They're not very far apart this year when looking at expected results (.364 - .343). On average across their careers, Bote has been a better hitter.
  10. Yeah, Tepera stepping up as the RH setup man really locked things into place. If Wick's not dead or Thompson/Nance are real this could be a lockdown group before long. There is quality depth at Iowa, too.
  11. :flythew: :flythew: :flythew:
  12. The bullpen is in really good shape with the combination of Kimbrel, scrap heap guys and "young" guys
  13. It's definitely 5-3. Not sure what's going on with MLB's real-time feed.
  14. Damn. Nance looks great. Phenomenal, even. :flythew: :flythew:
  15. Nance throws 97? huh.
  16. Heyward has been hitting the ball really hard this year. It's usually just on the ground straight at the second baseman. All hitters look better when they use the opposite field, but Heyward and Baez, in particular, stand out to me for getting such better results when the go the other way once in a while.
  17. Holy crap Nico
  18. Boog & JD think it's just a game situation thing + trying to manage AA's innings this year.
  19. As a former prosecutor I guess I should say something. Prosecutors have prosecutorial discretion to prosecute whatever they want but will generally defer to what the victim wants (especially on misdemeanors) unless there is some evidence or feeling that the victim isn’t cooperating for untoward reasons (think battered wives, etc). Padres Bro could definitely still be charged and still might, but it would only be a misdemeanor assault charge and the municipal prosecutors probably have their hands full with other stuff. consistent with my experience with padres fans . . . right Tim? lol - You'd think they'd be laid back!
  20. On gameday, that looked like a quality ab from Javy. Laid off everything outside the zone, fought off tough strikes at the top of the zone, and took that last pitch to right. Oh well.
