  1. Doesn't take much.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Idiots like me? I have a strong inkling that idiots like me are far more successful in life and more knowledgable in baseball than "idiots" like you.. So not really a need to be a jackass.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. But let's not say anything about Soler attempting to throw someone out at first base? I feel like that might be a bit more strenuous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. oh it's that easy. sweet! go tell them. Uhh pretty sure the team in red is telling them..with plenty of examples Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Because it's not that hard... You look for a fastball, you are a professional baseball player, you aren't asking for a home run or a hit even - you are simply asking for a ball in play in the air - good baseball players understand this isn't that difficult. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Soler did a great job getting behind that ball. Not.... Not like a 3 runs against Rosenthal is hard or anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. What is Kolton Wongs [expletive] brother's name? Sometin Wong :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It's so easy to get by those ushers.. They are older than Wrigley Field. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Whatever starting pitcher the Cubs decide to trade for or sign in the next 6 months or so - can we have him audition his pickoff play to first before we officially sign the contract? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'm going to both games of the doubleheader tomorrow.. If they lose them both, I'm headed to a depression. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Fowler has been all about hitting fly balls it seems. I hate Castro. Russell is young - he's learning this level - I expected him to struggle. Montero isn't an automatic out, but he's not good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The Cubs have an extremely good infield - at least I tell myself that and then I look at the Cardinals and I don't see great, but I see consistency. At 2nd base, Kolton Wong is one hell of a good little player - seems to do all the little things right (except getting picked off in playoff games), Peralta - I don't know how many shortstops are better than this guy - he's so damn just "above-average" on both sides of the ball. He annoys me because of how solid he is. Matt Carpenter is just a stud. He's always on base, he's got decent pop and gives you a great AB. Molina - everyone knows about him. They are just consistent. Rizzo is consistent on the Cubs infield, Russell is young and consistently hitting .250, Castro is as streaky as they come and Bryant has been strong on hitting side, but very inconsistent in the field.. The joys of youth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I just hate how much better the Cardinals look on defense than the Cubs. It truly is no contest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ok, if you're gonna do a pitch-out and just not throw - but do a fake.. WHY set yourself up to be behind in the count?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Man... Bryant reminds me more and more of Ryan Braun early in his career. Great hitter, and fielding just isn't there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Jason Heyward at $200 million makes me cringe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/estimating-jason-heywards-next-contract/ found an article to back up your argument. With that being said - no chance in hell I'd even remotely consider that for Heyward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Who do you have that has set the bar for that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Edwin Jackson has been extremely good in his limited role this year. Give the guy a shot - he has better stuff than anyone else we can throw out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I was always against it. I was also a fan of the Venable/Jackson route. I like Fowler, but only on a qualifying offer or at 12mil/year for 3 years max. Heyward is a guy I could deal with the Cubs giving $48mil/4 years. He has great defensive numbers and has a great eye. Doesn't really solve CF though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Latos and Aaron Harang are the same people to me. Big goofy looking millionaire turds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I believe Coghlan, Soler (home run) and Castro have decent numbers against Latos.. Echevarria and Ozuna strong numbers against Hendricks.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Imagine if we can get this guy going and regaining the approach he had early on. I remember going on Twitter last year after watching him in an Iowa Cubs game and saying "Soler is going to be the best of the Cubs prospect bunch." I still believe that could be the case - he's a monster and he's an athlete. Imagine if we can get him to spark this Cubs offense. Here's to hoping that he fixed any kinks they found in his swing during his rehab process! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. When the Marlins shortstop threw out Coghlan on an infield grounder yesterday Matt Vasgersian(sp) goes "that's really impressive to throw out a very speedy man." I mean Coghlan isn't slow, but he definitely isn't fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Russell will probably hit this way the rest of the year. They will let him have his struggles and figure out what he can, but I imagine he plays in a fall league and come next spring training he will have refined a few different things that coaches want him to change to have a better approach. I bet next year we see a much more polished player. While some players come up and excel with the bat and are terrible with the glove but improve over time - others players are the opposite and Russell has excelled with the glove and has been just OK at the plate.
