Wait, just the other day I had 3 guys defending Motte telling me how good he is, how good he's been since May, and how he throws "so hard" and has regained his closer stuff.. Now he's the guy in the question.. Stop looking at numbers, start looking at stuff. Do they get hit hard? What's the batting average on balls in play? Do hitters look lost against him or is he having a lot of balls hit right at people? I'm not trying to be a jackass, I just feel like way too many people see numbers and not real stuff. Strop's "stuff" is probably the best in the pen, but you know what's funny? Most fans right now would say he's the worst pitcher in the pen. Rondon's stuff is above-average, but not amazing. Motte throws a good fastball, and that's it. Anyone in baseball can hit a fastball. Grimm's stuff is slightly above average. Soriano's stuff, he has nothing - he was signed on reputation alone. Ramirez hasn't been the guy he was last year and watch video to compare - his fastball is flat and his command is off. He has good stuff, but it hasn't been there this year.
