Gotta love them starting Augie. Granted he's at the bottom of the order, but it's still Augie Ojeda on a team in contention. 2-8 in their last 10, fielding a lineup that honestly I don't see much difference over the Giants.... They were pretenders and are now done. I was just playin' around :) They can quit pretending after tomorrow, but for the remainder of this series they need to keep pretending like contenders. :) They havent' started pretending like contenders yet this series. Tonight would be a fine place to start. -
Winning does wonders to demeanor... No matter how one feels about JJ, I agree it is good to see him playing like a kid & enjoying the game. He isn't a bad guy, I think, so I hope he continues playing w/ some joy. maybe we'll get lucky in the process & he'll start producing on a semi-regular basis... How'd he do today? Work called me away, I missed the whole game, including Hill's performance :cry: Jones went 1-2, 2 RBI, 1 R, 2 BB/1 K After he got his 2 run single he did a fist pump and clapped his hands at first, and when he slid in home and scored he kinda rolled and got up laughing and high fived one of his teammates. I twas the most fun I've seen him have as a Cub.

Wow, watching the highlights now, and Jacque Jones looked like he was having a great time out there today. Good for him.

Just got home from work...all I have to say is how the hell did we score 9 runs with that crap ass lineup hahahahah. PS Good job Lou getting Z and Floyd out.

Me, too. Look at the job the team has done with Marquis. I trust the Cubs with reclamation projects. Marquis has gone 1-4 with a 5.80 ERA since May 9th (i think that's the date, whenever he went 5-1). He sucks.

I want to trade for a power hitting OF, stick with Soto behind the plate with Bowen/Blanco in limited roles, and stick with DeRosa/Fontenot/Theriot in the middle infield. There really aren't any catchers out there that would be available that I want (minus Salty Dog, but yeah)

Your friend should've looked at the tickets first. I've used scalpers a lot, and never had any problems. I've also never purchased tickets in the middle of game, that seems like a waste of money to me.

Again, why do people think Soriano hitting 5th is going to do much good? Because he can drive in more runs with people like Fontenot, Lee, and Ramirez hitting in front of him instead of the catcher, Izturis, Pagan, and the pitcher? True. He also won't get as many at bats. True, but I'd rather him be up 4 times a game with a chance to drive in base runners 2 or 3 times, than have him come up 5 times and only have 1 opp. to drive in base runners.

I was at the game where Todd Hundley was getting booed all game, hit a HR late, an flicked off the crowd as he was running to first. Man I hated him. That said, I voted for Pierre. I could never get myself up to hate Hawkins. Same goes for Jones. I just feel bad for them. -
