  1. DW and Fonzie getting back at their former team tonight.
  2. Time to bring in a reliever and the rest of the starters who are on the bench.
  3. Holy Jones! Too bad this guy up is a complete [expletive].
  4. Don't bet the family farm on that one, eh? Nah, just the deed to the house. ;)
  5. And tonight just became even more of a must win game. Let's get this done. It'd be nice to be 4.5 or less back at the break.
  6. I wonder if he's referring to Benson at all, and how he had to rebuild his good karma with the team after his holdout? I don't know if he's referring to Benson directly, maybe moreso just holdouts in general. But the Benson situation certainly came to my mind at first too.
  7. I picked Aramis, but I was planning on voting for DeRosa before I opened the thread. Too bad he's not an option.
  8. El Tigre, because of his allegiance to the ZOU.
  9. Just put vance back in the lead. Mad props to him for sending me the Independence Bowl program feat. Mizzou and South Carolina from 2005. Vance is awesome.
  10. That's one thing the Cubs need to do. Win 7 in a row, lose a game, and come back with another nice 4+ game winning streak. The Cubs never seem to do that. Ditto that, my friend.
  11. Seriously. We need to win at least 5 of the 7 vs. WASH and PIT, if not 6.
  12. True, but it seems that too often the moment has passed when Len gets excited. If the ball is landing at the same time your call reaches it's crescendo, the moment is ruined. The excitement of the call comes during the time between contact but before the moment it becomes obvious to the fan at home that a HR has been hit. Once I can tell the ball has left the park, the call is largely superfluous. But at the same time, I hate it when I get excited over nothing. It's a fine line. Just because we hate Chip doesn't mean he didn't actually have some good points. But if we want to talk about announcers who were premature on homer calls, Harry put his grandson to shame. I love Len Kasper much more than Chip, and his call today was spectacular. Yeah, but when I've left the room to use the john, I'd rather the HR call be a bit late than to get me all excited that I start to try to wrap it up only to find out it was a shallow fly ball to the left fielder. What I hated about Chip was that his HR call was the same for both teams: "SWUNG ON BELTED, DEEP TOWARDS LEFT FIELD, WAY BACK AND GONE" *i run into room* "THAT'S A HOME RUN FOR JEFF BAGWELL" me: :?
