  1. That was from before he signed with Texas and announced he wanted to return. Yep, plain and simple. He said he wanted to get to 600 and that's all. Oh wait, he said he still has passion for the game and feels he's in good enough shape to try and play before leaving on his own terms? What a selfish prick.
  2. NO THANK YOU! Surely the Reds would have to eat some of that contract if they wanted to move him, right?
  3. I think it is time to send Theriot down to get some work (after Aramis returns, don't want Izturis in the lineup every day). His sub .650 OPS is hideous, and he just isn't a good hitter right now. Is there anyone down in AAA we can call up to replace Theriot for a bit while he tries to get his bat going again? I'm perfectly fine with a MI of DeRosa and Fontenot.
  4. CM rocks, but vance rocks slightly more. +1 vance.
  5. Quoting stuff from Rumor Central isn't really stealing pay service, all they are are rumors from public newspapers posted in one central location. And this doesn't say much of anything we don't already know Honestly, I'd eat about 70% of JJ's contract if it got his horrible bat off this team.
  6. +1 for Calvin and Hobbes +100 for Mizzou TT is awesome.
  7. I don't think Sammy returned just to get to 600, I think he genuinely felt he could come back to the game and play well and I think he wanted to end up leaving on his own terms, when he felt the game had finally passed him by. As one of the best home run hitters ever, I think he deserves that.
  8. 2 runs normally wouldn't win this game. But with a crappy pitcher on the mound against the Cubs? This one could be just about over.
  9. Voted for the kU guy again. Dammit.
  10. the Barrett GS is probably one of the top 10 best Cubs moments in my life, so this was an easy vote.
  11. Thanks for the responses guys. Interesting trade to say the least. I'm not against it, but I don't really know what to think at this point. I'm sad to see Barrett go since I really liked him, but he definitely needed to be shipped off.
  12. So I don't have to sift through 46 pages of pure anger, can anyone give me a brief rundown of these guys?
  13. I'll cheer. I root for Sammy to HR every game. He's my all-time favorite player. This series will be no different (unless the game is on the line, i'd prefer it to be a solo shot when the Cubs are up 8-3)
  14. LOW BLOW Although I am a HUGE supporter of the great Demond "Bob" Sanders, it should be known that I am a closet Bears fan and have been all of my life. I am not, nor have I ever been, a fan of the Colts, and I was cheering against them in the Super Bowl. So long as Bob and Dallas have good games, it doesn't upset me one bit if the team fails. I was upset with the outcome of the game, but I felt like a proud parent that 2 of my boys were able to get rings. I voted for you before I read this, but you may have clinched another few votes from me in future. I liked you a lot already, but I didn't know you were actually a Bears fan.
  15. Peavy should be suspended. I don't see why Giles is fined, he didn't do anything from what I saw.
  16. This is what Tim said in my "threads posted in being marked?" post a few posts down:
