  1. back up the truckload of cash
  2. Sources told ESPN Chicago's Bruce Levine that the Cubs are indeed involved in talks for Prince Fielder. Cubs manager Dale Sveum and team president Theo Epstein told reporters Friday that they have not had direct contact with the 27-year-old free agent first baseman. But Levine's sources revealed Saturday that Epstein has kept an open line of communication with Fielder's agent, Scott Boras, since the general manager meetings in November. The Cubs are likely hoping that Fielder will be resigned to accepting a shorter-term deal.
  3. Yeah I didn't understand that tweet at all. Does that mean the Cubs wouldn't be interested if he was going to take less years? Because that makes no sense.
  4. BruceMiles2112 Bruce Miles Sveum says Prince Fielder talk has been media generated. #Cubs
  5. hopefully Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and Greg Jennings
  6. it isnt
  7. I'm still amazed how good he's become at face offs. The year before we won the Cup he was basically useless.
  8. Bowe is #1 because he's unrestricted, but I'd give up picks for Mike Wallace in a second. He's unreal and he'll only be 26 next season.
  9. The Yankees aren't expected to post a bid high enough to land Yu Darvish, according to the New York Daily News. New York said as much last week. The Yankees will assuredly post a bid, but it isn't expected to be competitive with industry expectations. According to the Post, "The smart money is on either the Blue Jays or Rangers to land Darvish."
  10. Yu Darvish will be far less likely to settle on a contract he believes fair if the winning posting fee is high, according to Yahoo! Sports. Darvish believes the posting system is unfair. He's right. Obviously the higher the fee, the less the winning team will be able to offer him. Darvish's preference is to play for a West Coast team, according to the report. Bids to negotiate with Darvish are due at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
  11. JonHeymanCBS Jon Heyman estimate of 1 mlb exec what it will take to win yu darvish: $112.5M (thats posting plus contract). im guessing a bit lower
  12. dont care. i ll probably miss the first half oh well
  13. Rosenthal: Ramirez 3-year deal with #Brewers expected to be in $34M to $37M range. Numbers not confirmed. Brewers earlier made offer to Rollins. #MLB
  14. nothing all that new JonHeymanCBS Jon Heyman cubs definitely in mix for prince, who at 27 makes more sense than pujols for them. needs: 1B, LH power, cleanup hitter. JonHeymanCBS Jon Heyman #mariners are trying for #prince, as well. blue jays and rangers among teams showing interest and thinking hard about it.
  15. That probably has something to do with it. With baserunning and defense, that's a more than acceptable line for a bench spot. Sure, but there's plenty of guys with plus base running and defensive abilities that put up a slash line like that. I don't consider him being "run out of town." He wasn't good and his talent-level is/was easily replaceable.
