I agree with you. No blasphemy here. I never liked Harry Carey. I didn't hate him, but his calls were sometimes like this: "There's a line drive,...ground ball,..no,..pop..., uh, he struck out." Put it this way, the Cubs have had better announcers than Harry. Some were much better. Harry was painful to listen to for years before his death. As for as his home run call, my friend (who is also a rabid Cubs fan) used to mock it as kids. "It might be, it could be, it is.....caught by the pitcher." Horrible judge of the distance of fly balls.
