There's ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with short girls, so long as they're not stubby. I'd take a 4'10" girl with a hot body over a 5'10" girl with a hot body anyday, and I've dated both. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to figure out why. No way in hell, and it's not difficult to figure out why. Plus, I only date models and they're no shorter than 5'7-5'8 anyway. :D Models? Why not break into your local high school and have your way with the skeleton in the lab? You get the same build, and probably the same amount of energy. Waif chicks are the absolute worst.

Joe Carter...wow what a statement, hahah Well... Carter had some personality, didn't he? I can't quite remember why I hated him so much. Carter is a great guy, but he was absolutely awful in the booth. Painful to listen to.

If I were Weber, I'd have all these guys doing shooting drills all the time. As good as the Illini are on defense, that's how bad they are offensively.

He fouls too much, and has no killer instinct around the basket. If he had a clue, he'd be 1st team all-B10. The biggest problem the Illini have had this year is the injury/absence of Jamar Smith, IMO. And Rich McBride.

Pleasac asked him a question about expectations and prefaced it by saying "If you can get the pitching shored up, the offense looks like one of the best in the league." In the midst of his answer, DeRosa said, "With the way Guzman is throwing the ball, he might be our fifth starter." There was no dig at Prior whatsoever. I didn't mean to say it was a dig but it definitely didn't show any confidence in Prior's ability to rebound... You hear statements like that all the time in ST. It meant less than nothing, IMO. If both pitchers were no-names I'd agree but when you have someone with the pedigree of Mark Prior, it's hard to agree. Perhaps if DeRosa had a chance to think about his answer it would have been more diplomatic but I think his thoughts about Angel are telling. It's still relatively early in ST yet DeRosa doesn't feel that Prior will rebound. He was being honest about his feelings for Guzman... The guys on the team just want to win. A new guy like DeRosa has no allegiance to Mark Prior. As such, he's given his gut feeling. You are reading waaaayyy to much into what DeRosa said, IMO.

Hey, 87-88 is better than 83-84. If Prior can add a couple MPH every start, He'll be in the mid-90's by the end of ST. :D

K State really blew a lot of chances in the final minutes. Kansas tried to give it away, but to no avail.

It isn't that big. I think if he stays healthy the race is Prior vs. Prior alternative. I agree. I think the debate is a tool to motivate Prior. If he's healthy and not abysmal, he's in.

I know you weren't honestly comparing the talents of Carlos Delgado with Jason Marquis. Florida is well versed at spinning off talented players for prospects. The Cubs are not, even though they SHOULD be, considering the amount of times they finished in the bottom half of their division. I would have taken George Kottaras off of the Padres hands for Maddux. Ethier, Kemp, Loney, Guzman, Delwyn Young, Andy LaRoche, Scott Elbert, etc..... The Dodgers played hardball with Hendry one too many times, and Hendry let Colletti walk all over him again on the Maddux deal. Simply amazing. Let us count the ways: 1) Outbid Hendry on Furcal, the only player Hendry wanted that offseason. 2) Signed Nomar, who Hendry had basically kicked to the curb. Nomar went on to have a stud-like year.3) Cubs need for an outfielder like Milton Bradley had Dusty flying out to LA to meet with Bradley personally. Colletti traded him to Oakland instead. 4) Maddux for Izturis. 5) Signed Kenny Lofton, who would have been better than Pierre at nearly half the price. Where was Nomar going to play if the Cubs decided to re-sign him? The OF, probably.

Those people at Desipio are really in love with themselves. It's quite pathetic. I frequented Desipio for a while, but it's neither serious or funny. It's pretty much worthless.

I don't think it's just you. He seems to have a real arrogance about him. The way he talks, you'd think he's built an absolute dynasty. Between he and Guillen, it's not hard to dislike that team. Not because they are "rivals" of the Cubs (I don't consider them to be rivals), but because they are both clowns. Williams has been talking like that since he took over the job, it has nothing to do with them winning in '05. Yeah, and he was awful for his first seasons. His moves have looked really good the past couple seasons, but his ego far outweighs his accomplishments.

Jesus Christ, it's as if people who question the diety that is Aramis Ramirez are completely idiotic for mentioning that it doesn't look good that he's the only one who doesn't show up early. Am I saying that he's an ass for not showing up early? No. Am I saying that I like him less for not showing up early? No, in fact he's one of my favorite Cubs. Am I saying that it doesn't look good? Yes. And it doesn't. He signs a fat contract (at a discount, yes, but still fat) and he's the last to arrive to ST. That's not the way to win over the fans that got on him last year. how does it look bad if he's not late, yet? that's the confusing thing about all of this. and using your own "real-world" logic, if you're scheduled to work at 8am on monday, does it look bad if you show up at 8am on monday, what would you accomplish by showing up at 8am on sunday? If everyone else in my entire office... everyone... comes in and works on Sunday and I don't? Yeah, it's not going to look good. It'll look like I'm the slacker. When everyone else is coming in early and I just show up when I have to be there, it looks bad for me. How is this so hard to understand? Why should anyone care? If he does his job as well or better than the others, who cares if they showed up sooner? What it looks like isn't the point, it's that people are making a big deal out of it. It's [expletive]. If ARam has a .900+ OPS next year, I could care less if he shows up for ST at all. I for one am just grateful he's going to be on the Cubs at all, and I'm still stunned he didn't go to Anaheim, where he could have had it better in so many ways. If people want to have coronaries because ARam didn't show up early, more power to them. But they look like tools.
