  1. This is why Guzman is going to the pen. The rotation is not the problem.
  2. That's what I thought last year as well. But, they always seem to do it. At some point Abreu will start to hit. No, the pitching is so bad it won't matter. Another of their patchwork starters got injured today, too. If I were the Brewers I would trade them one of my pitchers for Tabata and Abreu. Then call up Gallardo. They might be 15 out by time the Rocket makes his first start. They need something more, and bad.

  4. In an unrelated note, since I am being forced to watch the Subways series, it is becoming obvious that the signing of Clemens is like putting a band-aid on an evisceration victim. That club will not make the playoffs.
  5. If God truly hates us, A.J. will go yard here.
  6. Uribe has a whopping .650 OPS against LHP this season. Maybe, but he is facing the human gas can.
  7. It's awesome, too bad it's being wasted on the Cowboys, though. :P
  8. Exactly. Can you imagine the nerve of the guy? I'll bet he's lounging in his backyard right now sucking down some cold brews, or getting ready for another round of golf this afternoon. But seriously, the Kerry bashing here has reached new depths of cluelessness. Rehab is unpredictable and painful as hell. Of course he is. Obviously he planned the whole thing: sign a huge contract and then strategically injure himself so he won't have to earn it. I mean there is that constant rehab, public pressure, derision and long term health effects, but that's nearly as bad a pitching every fifth day, right?
  9. I think the factor no one has mentioned is that as a converted reliever, Looper will run out of gas at some point, in all likelihood. He's already almost 2/3 of the way to his career high in IP. Then again, Marquis could just start sucking again, but there is no way Braden maintains for the whole year. Even if they pull him from the rotation, his numbers will take a huge hit due to fatigue before they do.
  10. I'd pick Cisco, but they all look pretty bland. Also, I think all new ballparks built in the northern half of the country should at least have a retractable roof. Open stadium in the twin cities in the spring? Good luck with that attendance. Yikes.
  11. Yeah and think if on full counts lee and ramirez would have taken the walks. But, hey that's how you get back into these type games. Lee and Ramirez really worked the counts in those AB's. Not much to complain about.
  12. No, lets not forget it. He wasn't pitching fantastic. They had at least one base runner each inning. That isn't fantastic. Take off the Rich Hill blinders. He pitched like poop today. Please tell me you were actually watching the game, and not following on gameday. He has thrown ONE bad pitch. ONE. To be fair, a guy who issued three walks threw more than one bad pitch. By bad pitch, I mean one that can be driven for extra bases. Well the walks hurt as much as the homers tonight, I'm afraid.

  14. No, lets not forget it. He wasn't pitching fantastic. They had at least one base runner each inning. That isn't fantastic. Take off the Rich Hill blinders. He pitched like poop today. Hill pitched poorly. Wade Miller pitches like poop.
  15. Let's keep Hill away from Burrell in the future.
  16. It is? Hill has been fantastic today, imo. He's also going to lose this game. You aren't fantastic when you walk the leadoff guy, bean the next, then give up a dong. Fantastic is what Marquis did las time. Are you watching the game?? Hill has given up 3 hits, almost got Burrell on a check-swing K, and the HR pitch was low and out of the zone. edit: And oh,yeah, The hit batsman should have been an out as well. So didn't Z give up three runs earned yesterday? I suppose he was fantastic as well. Z was fortunate to only give up 3. Also, more slack is cut for a guy who has been largely dominant so far this year.
  17. Exactly. Like sexual abuse, domestic violence is likely no worse than it has ever been, but we are just far more aware of it.
  18. A- Corey isnt worth that much. His lifetime OBP is lower than Neifi Perez's now. The guy is just a bum. B- We thankfully dont need more OFs. C- I would become a Cardinal fan. (ok, i wouldnt...but i would be very very angry.) On a happy note, Jon Leicester was one of the guys brought up to replace some of the Orioles DL cats. Nice to see him reappear after some serious type surgery. Hopefully he will do well. Corey is no Alex Sanchez, after all.
  19. I think I just heard the sound of the Astros season imploding. Stros and Cards could be duking it out for 5th place before it's all over.
  20. I'd bet the Yankees are paying far more per win right now than are the Cubs.
  21. bravo :) I miss him as President I think a whole lot of people do.
  22. I just saw it and you're right. It's totally mangled. And my mind didn't immediately go to alcohol. It was fairly early, he could have been tired, messing with the radio, etc. If the tow truck was parked in the left lane, he could have thought it was just slow moving, looked to the right to see if he could get over, looked back and it was too late. Any number of things. And if he had a drinking problem bad enough to be driving drunk on Sunday morning, wouldn't it be common knowledge?
