  1. Yeah, and pretty much everyone I've heard address the play on TV/radio/internet other than Pirates fans and Koreans has expressed the same thing. It was an aggressive slide for sure, but Kang should have jumped while letting his momentum carry him toward the outfield (instead of jumping toward 1B and planting), which like you said, is what 99.9% of middle infielders do. Coghlan said that's what he was expecting, and I believe him.
  2. The "albino villain", lmao I don't know who the most racist poster on NSBB is, but I vote we change their status to this.
  3. Including the negative, I suppose this would have to be the most surprising thing. I really thought he was going to take a step forward in 2015, not [expletive] the bed. I didn't even think that; I just figured it would be business as usual with maybe a bit more power. Yeah, that's kind of what I meant; I was thinking he'd be usual good Castro while hitting 20+ homers.

  5. Between IMB's photographic evidence of their presence in hell and their regular sacrifice of players to the dark lord under the guise of drunk driving, there can't be much doubt.
  6. Schwarber. I figured he'd be in the minors all year working on his catching, and I certainly didn't expect his power to translate at the big league level so quickly when he arrived.
  7. His xFIP is actually lower in the second half. That's about the only metric that has been better in the second half. He's allowing more baserunners (he's walking more guys, in particular) in the second half, and that has not served him well. His command is clearly not what it was in the first half. i mean that can't be true given that it's kind of a comprehensive stat based on other peripherals And yet it is. wOBA, FIP, BB%, K/BB rate, WHIP, LD%, BABIP, etc., etc. are all worse in the second half. His K rate is up a tad, but his walk rate has more than doubled.

  9. Kyle Hendricks has been less than stellar in the second half. I know he's working through some stuff, but I don't have much confidence in him right now.
  10. Yes, that is annoying to me as well. Although that may be simply because I am a total pedant when it comes to these things.
  11. Yeah, guy gets the sweet spot on a pitch, it happens. It's the walk that there's no excuse for. Same with Grimm in the 7th. You can't go around walking players who [expletive] suck. Oh well.
  12. We have stud relievers? Rondon is most definitely a stud. And outside of his last few outings, Grimm has been as well.
  13. Because it's a DH? Yeah, but with a four run lead and expanded rosters, it wouldn't have hurt my feelings to see him pulled. It's not like it's the sixth inning or anything.
  14. Coomer is terrible. One would probably have more success tracking the events of the game through remote viewing than listening to his pbp.
  15. It's kinda the best possible time. I wish it had happened two months ago. True. While we were going 14-1 would have been nice.
  16. I'm still pissed off enough from yesterday that part of me wants the Pirates to pass the Cards so we can be the ones to end St. Louis' season, in front of the bfib. Also, it's fun to see the Cards regressing to the mean at the worst possible time.
  17. Going to the pen this inning doesn't bother me; the choice of relievers does.
  18. Strop vs. St. Louis is something that needs to stop happening.
  19. McCarver does nothing but recount tired anecdotes and talk out of his ass. He knows nothing.
  20. Man, if good Starlin is back, this offense is going to be tough to deal with. Especially when Schwarber is back full time.
