His xFIP is actually lower in the second half. That's about the only metric that has been better in the second half. He's allowing more baserunners (he's walking more guys, in particular) in the second half, and that has not served him well. His command is clearly not what it was in the first half. i mean that can't be true given that it's kind of a comprehensive stat based on other peripherals And yet it is. wOBA, FIP, BB%, K/BB rate, WHIP, LD%, BABIP, etc., etc. are all worse in the second half. His K rate is up a tad, but his walk rate has more than doubled.
