  1. What about the fact that it was still an easy touchdown catch? I didn't say that the plan was for it to be underthrown. All I said was that it's not a big deal in that situation if it is. You seem to want to apply a WR's skillset to a RB. He didn't leap for the ball and catch it like Terrel Owens because that's not his, ehem, Forte. Orton's job is to put that ball on the money, and he failed as usual. Bottom line, that play was more Orton's fault than Forte's. That's my story, and I'm not changing it. Orton's junk Jon. You know this.
  2. Face it Orton is horrible.
  3. The interception was luck, but Forte had his man beat and Orton underthrew the ball. It's still a mismatch and an underthrow isn't a huge deal when you have a big LBer in coverage who isn't going to look back for the ball. Forte did everything right up until the attempted catch. He tried to catch it like it was a kick return. Why criticize a running back for not displaying wide receiver skills when the ball was underthrown in the first place? The underthrow is a huge deal when your guy has a couple steps on the coverage. It's not like they just drew the play up on the sidelines. They've clearly practiced it and Forte should know how to catch a pass. It would be great if the throw was perfect, but in that situation, an underthrow isn't that bad. Since the LBer won't turn to look for the ball, the odds of clean interception are very low. And underthrow also significantly increases the chances for a PI call. Underthrows are great if you have a WR who can take advantage of them and it's part of the repertoire. I highly doubt that was the plan there. It was just a bad throw. And it's not a difficult throw either. As long as we have a QB who can't put that one on the money, we're not going to have a very good offense. That's the long & short of it for me. The guy got lucky on the INT. A good throw and he can't get lucky.
  4. Grossman's problem is not sacks, it's the panic thing. He's like a lobotomized Favre out there Orton isn't exactly Mr. Cool out there.

  6. What's the net gain of Orton over Grossman again? Grossman will take sacks because he can't move, but he's accurate on his intermediate/deep throws. Kyle won't take as many sacks but he can't throw a longer pass to save his life. They're both going to throw picks. Pretending that only Grossman does this is stupid. I guess the bottom line is we don't have a QB, again. And we have no clue how to find one.
  7. The interception was luck, but Forte had his man beat and Orton underthrew the ball. This.
  8. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict we don't score in this drive either.
  9. Nice job underthrowing your receiver Kyle. What a joke.
  10. 2 times in the red zone, no TD. Get the ball at the 50, do nothing with it. I've got a feeling we're starting to see what this offense really is now. And it's not good.
  11. Holding out for something more. Like I said before, I want something that has "Cubs" and "World Series" on it. Anything less will just wind up being put in a box and never seen again.
  12. Great vid, thanks.
  13. I wish it was big enough to burn. Who the hell designs these things? It looks like a cheap flea market american eagle rip off. It's the worst thing I've ever seen. It looks like someone made it out of their old jean jacket from the 1980's. And Notre Dame is not for real. Sorry guys, maybe next year.
  14. Cool, Len Kasper post. On here. Awesome. BTW, the "Oh, BABY!" line is just fine with me.
  15. The Cubs just did something they haven't done in 100 years. Just let that simmer in your brain for a bit.
  16. That was a nice moment. Also good to see the more subdued celebration. I think there's a better sense that this isn't enough. That's what I want to see at this point.
  17. Those are the ugliest division champion hats I've ever seen, and I won't be caught dead with one. Acutally, I'm not buying a damn thing this year that doesn't have "Cubs" and "World Series" on it. Not one damn thing.
  18. Inexcusable for FOX to not cut in here.
  19. Scrub or not, he definitely made solid pitches that inning. He seems to have been pretty solid against us, from what I remember. There have been other games where far less talented relievers held us scoreless in the latter innings.
  20. Division title aside, I really don't like this "score a few in the early innings and then don't score again even against scrubs" type of mode that the Cubs have been displaying. Although Franklin's not really a scrub.
  21. Hot blondes all over the world say WIN THIS THING! http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa250/soulschizm/Carmen2.jpg
  22. He pulls off everything with that "Japanese" swing. Why not step forward instead of bailing out? It's maddening to watch. It seems like that and he also stands to close to the plate. I wasnt expecting him to be great here in his first year. But not this brutal He has a good eye at the plate, but even when he reaches the outside pitch he doesn't do anything with it. I can't believe it's that hard of a thing to fix. Step forward not toward 1B. I teach 12 year olds this every summer. So Japanese pitchers can't pitch outside? This is why I'm still confused what's really going on. Fuku was a very, very solid hitter in Japan for an extended period of time. Sure, it's not MLB but there's talent there. Certainly enough talent to pound the outside on him. Yet he succeeded. There's got to be something more happening than just "MLB found a hole in his swing." They would have found that hole in Japan too if that's all it was. He's lost confidence or something. I don't know. You're probably right, but the biggest concern I have is his first step. Me too, but in April and May he was fouling off bad pitches and dumping those outside sliders into left field. I'll bet that's what he did overseas too. He's just not doing it now, and I'd like to know why.
  23. Way to go out there and put up some insurance runs guys.

  25. Probably because Fox's MLB contract is insane, giving them the right to take away the viewer's choice of which game they want to watch.
