  1. That is your DAGGER!
  2. Hurts is a mirage.
  3. I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that my takeaway from this season will be more or less a decent start to the Counsell era, as long as they finish strong in September. It's going to be tough to get the WC although I'm not ruling it out yet. But Counsell's first 2 seasons with Milwaukee were not good (61 and 73 wins, respectively). Only in year 4 did he reach the postseason. So it took awhile. At least for me, that was a bit of a surprise. He's had to fight through some abysmal performances from players we were counting on, and a terrible bullpen earlier in the season. The team is performing it's best right now after all that. Guys are hitting and the bullpen has solidified. Maybe I've got my rose colored glasses on. I'm still not thrilled with Jed's work in the offseason.
  4. Yeah I was mostly worried about Kyle imploding. Tonight was about a whopping 5 hits, 0-5 RISP, 9 LOB.
  5. We really need old Hendricks tonite.
  6. This guy worked in a drug rehab center.
  7. I know it but they FEEL shaky. It doesn’t make sense.
  8. Good teams shake it off and win the next one.
  9. Imagine if we just blunted the losing a bit earlier in the season. A lot of winnable games were lost and just flipping a few would have changed the season entirely.
  10. I guess it’s important to not only fix problems, but also to fix them quickly.
  11. Fun, but we all know tomorrow scoring will be sparse.
  12. I’m excited but also trying to control it. The team is still run by Everflub so players have to overcome his ineptitude in addition to the other team. I’m not expecting great play calling for example. I doubt the in game tactics will be suddenly awesome.
  13. It feels like the Cubs have put up an explosion of runs, and then the next day almost no offense quite a few times.
  14. Unfortunately winning 2/3 isn’t enough at this point. And that might have been the last real opportunity to turn this game around.
  15. I’m skeptical but yeah, if they put up a great record in the next 3 series I might start hoping.
  16. It’s never a bad thing to show them a 100mph fastball after a much slower starting pitcher.
  17. WTF did we trade for? This guy sucks.
  18. Eff’ing Cardinals are running 6 games up on their predicted record based on run differential. Reminds me how much I’ve always hated them.
  19. Why would a former scout need to sneak that in as a preface to every post? Also, he “went there” alright. Not with the Williams/Bagent comparison but with the body language poop. Even if he was a scout of some renown his opinion would mean little to me after that.
  20. The difference is in Milwaukee his moves worked because the FO gave him players that work. For example he was leaning on Hader over and over and it was working because Hader was handling it. So that looked brilliant and won games but it would have looked idiotic had it been a different guy who just blew his arm out.
  21. It’s starting to sound like 6 innings unless he’s not doing well...
  22. Situationally though he could have a substantial impact.
