Best trade option for us, IMO. The guy can play 3b while Ramirez is down/needs rest, he can spell Theriot a little more often than Blanco because his bat it better, and he could probably play some 2b too. If the light suddenly goes on, then he's a better alternative than almost anyone available for trade....but the chances of that are unknown (hasn't been given much of a shot). I don't know why more teams don't go after prospects that an original team has lost interest in. As for Wood, you could also put Fontentot back in a utility role when Aramis comes back and slide Theriot to second base. Give Wood some playing time and he could end up being what Khalil Greene was supposed to be (not defensively, of course). All good, but the first time Hendry was presented with an offseason without a pile of cash to work with, we wound up with Miles, no DeRosa, a useless version of Bradley, and a ballclub sinking in the standings by June. I'm not sure I want Hendry tinkering with this roster any more until someone tells him he's got lots of cash again.
