San Jose Sharks simply aren't as good as Chicago Blackhawks I'm going to play devil's advocate here and disagree with that sentiment. It's pretty easy to jump on the Sharks because they've lost a couple games at home and are now at a disadvantage. But here's why I think the Sharks still have a chance: 1) I've watched the Sharks put tons of pressure on the Hawks in these first 2 games. They've skated with the Hawks up and down the ice. They've applied solid hits. They haven't looked "outplayed" to me. Niemi has so far weathered those times rather well, which is great for the Hawks, but I've got to figure if they keep that up a couple more goals will make it past. The Sharks have actually generated more shots than the Hawks in more than one period of play (not sure about the overall totals). 2) A couple goals from the Hawks seemed to me to be more of a product of a goal tender not playing his best rather than great net pressure from the Hawks. I'm thinking of the Ladd shot in game 2, and the Big Buff shot in game 1. It wouldn't be beyond imagination to think that Nabokov will shut down those opportunities in future games, leading to tighter games, which means a better opportunity for the Sharks to win. 3) Again, it needs to be mentioned: Hawks have not played well at home. They've simply been a much better road team this year in the playoffs, for whatever reason. If the Sharks win a couple at the United Center because the Hawks play like they have in their 2 previous series, this entire series looks much different. That's my non-expert observer's opinion. Obviously the Hawks could win Friday night and make all of that stuff seem silly. But right now, at this moment -- I still believe it is premature to make overall statements about which team is better or how the series will end up.
