    The Pirates are 10 back, 4 games back of the Cubs. And if it wasn't for the fact that they've feasted on the Cubs this year, they'd be much further back. They're also working on a 5 game bender. In short, the "lose to the Pirates" crap needs to stop. Today.

    I'll care about the Wings when they are playing hockey again. Right now it's all about the Hawks and the Flyers.

    yeah, I agree...what St. Louis does most years (win more games with a smaller budget) is fairly admirable. I'm sure I'd harbor more hate for them if I lived in Chicago or St. Louis. There has only been a big difference in budget for the last 3 years. Before that it was relatively close and Cardinals was even higher in 2005 than the Cubs. I'm not saying that the Cubs spend their money well, just that the Cardinals have not always done more with less. Just more with about the same :) I harbor hate for them just because they're the Cardinals. But I also agree with fiver's sentiment that they seem to do a pretty good job with things.

    I choose to focus on the 1 run we had, and the 0 runs they had for yesterday. Lilly was good, we scratched out a series win against a pretty good team.

    That's far different than simply turning over the Bulls to Jordan. An ownership stake? Sure. I don't know the details, but it seems doubtful to me that Jordan would want a mere stake in some team. His interest appears to be full control, full ownership.

    and Soriano is getting the day off so you use the RHed Nady that can't throw instead of Colvin, but those other two are much worse. Oh yea I mentioned the whole Soriano getting a day off in the game thread too. He's OPS'ing over a 1.000 this month and just had a offday but hey let's give him a day off in favor of Nady because Nady hit a Homerun last night. I'm sure Fontenots error at 3rd is the primary reason he's sitting today too. Soriano is OPS'ing over 1.000 this month? Really? I didn't realize that. Wait, Nady hit HR last night too? Wow man, thanks for the info. :mrgreen:

    Maybe JR should be on cue to wipe Jordan's ass whenever he wants it, too. How about Jordan's gambling? JR should foot that bill, too.

    OK. Yeah, I'd love to see Jordan in the Bulls organization, but I think we need to be realistic. He's above being a coach, probably doesn't want to GM, and certainly no one can expect Reinsdorf to move over and share ownership. I'm not sure what he would do. It's not like the Bulls lock him out of the UC. They did build a statue n' all. Nobody has torn that down :)
