  1. He never dressed in pads for either Thursday or Friday's practice. Since he was the 4th QB, I'm assuming that Teel's injury prevented him from getting enough reps for the Bears to feel like he had any sort of chance to catch on. So they went in a different direction (Markshausen). That's just assumption though. I didn't even realize Teel was injured until I read a brief blurb on it today.
  2. This weekend was brutal trying to watch this team live. I'm really ready to get home
  3. Maybe not on the web, but it was mentioned prominently and repeatedly on the post game show this afternoon.
  4. I'm sitting in the stands, trying to tough this one out :) flags are blowing out towards right at the moment.
  5. Not to take up the Arkush defense, but to his credit he did say the Bears are one of the more interesting teams this year -- one that coul surprise and make the playoffs. It's not 100% negative with him, but you have to search a bit for the nuggets of light in the sea of darkness sometimes.
  6. Dumervil possibly out for the year just a short time after signing for massive dollars. Ouch. I'm sprinkling imaginary anti-injury dust on Peppers as I type this.
  7. Well, he had a gig on a contender and the Hawks definitely wanted him to return. They asked to work with the team's tough cap situation and he did not. I understand wanting to get paid when the wave is cresting, but given the situation there was significant risk for him. Now he's got to live with it and hope he lands on his feet, which he still could. I hold no ill will, but wish it worked out differently. I'm pretty happy with our plan B. We'll see if Niemi is as satisfied with his when it's all over.
  8. Maybe. But it's not like a WR getting seperation is a rare occurence. The Bears are going to see Sidney Rice twice, Greg Jennings twice, Calvin Johnson twice, Randy Moss and others. They are going to get seperation a lot. The key is minimizing the damage done when a WR seperates and getting to the QB to not allow him to take advantage of it. Knox, Hester, and Aromashodu should be able to seperate with their speed, and it's a good sign that they are able to do it in practice. I just don't see how anything said this early on really means much of anything.
  9. There's really no reason for Favre to do a training camp anymore, since he's proven that teams will still take him starting after camp breaks. So really, anything that is said now is meaningless, whether it's a joke being played by someone, or whether it's Favre himself.
  10. My quick & dirty opinion on the Vikes: they're still the 2nd best team in the division, with or without Favre (yes, even with Favre I still think of GB as the best in the North for '10/'11).
  11. They've starting throwing to him much more. His passing yardage went way up last year. Even though his total yards and ypc were down, his total yards from scrimmage remained the same. His # of fumbles actually went down slightly last year. I'm with you, not sure what to make of it. Although -- I wouldn't expect to see year after year of 1,700 yards rushing. He's going to suffer wear and tear like any other RB, and defenses will continue to key on him when & where they can.
  12. Paints a pretty rosy picture. It's just too early for me to say anything about anything right now. I will be at the Family Night practice Friday, as it turns out. I've never actually done that before.
  13. Yeah, that article was pretty baffling to say the least.
  14. My friend and I always go to Wrigley for a few days each year, and we haven't done it yet this year on account of him being unemployed. He just got his job back last week after a 17-month layoff so I was browsing September ticket prices on StubHub, and bleachers for the Giants series in September are going for 10 bucks. The point is, scalper prices right now probably aren't too bad. True. I'll bet many paid back when they were still expensive though. Not that it matters. You pay, you take your chances. I've done it. My mind just naturally turns to such thoughts when my team becomes a joke. How much did I pay for this, again? 8-)
  15. Good. Make him the head coach too.
  16. Imagine having paid scalper prices for this slop. I almost feel sorry for these people. Almost.
  17. I'm coming up blank trying to remember the last time I saw a single that scores a runner from 1st. I'm sure it has happened.
  18. LOL, Favre annual offseason soap opera time. Will he or won't he? Oh my goodness the tension!
  19. Look at the frontline players the Hawks can put on the ice. It's still a contender, certainly. There's still a heck of a lot of talent on that roster.
  20. Falcons are an interesting team. Unfortunately, I don't have very much confidence that Abraham can stay healthy and still be a worthwhile pass rusher. I think the Falcons had some areas to shore up in order to take a step in becoming an elite team. I thought they did well w/ Dunta and drafting Franks, and I love Weatherspoon to solidify the LB group. But I thought they needed help rushing the passer (26th in sacks last year) and another weapon for the #3 WR spot. Gotta really hope Anderson and/or Sidbury really step up, IMO, to be a playoff team. I also find them to be interesting this year.
  21. Rope-a-dope Favre, at it again. The man has become as much a living joke as he is a living legend.
  22. Lots of things annoy me. But oh well. Win some damn games and suddenly that song starts to sound better. I've definitely noticed that.
  23. You could. But that would be a waste of good time. It would also represent a net subtraction of the # of total heartbeats your life is composed of, which could have been better spent on, well.......just about anything else.
