  1. Will we get the helicopter footage this time? Brett is on his way back to Minny. I'm reeling from the pure shock and surprise of it all.
  2. Kind of makes Zambrano look better.
  3. I watch the Bears win or lose, so I'm all in for the DirecTV package regardless. But yeah, it could be a chore watching this team if the OLine can't block and we wind up watching Jay run for his life while our backs can't get any running room.
  4. Great. Had high hopes for Wright to be a big boost for us at the start of the season. He'll come back but the time he will miss in training camp will hurt.
  5. He might not get the chance to show himself now, from the depth chart up, which is where he probably should have been in order to develop. Chalk him up as a casualty of our borked Safety situation, I guess.
  6. If it's as simple as advance scouting, then that's pathetic for an organization to not engage in a basic activity that could make a huge difference like that.
  7. Same could be said for everyone on the roster, except Wright. Not saying that he's great or anything, but Steltz at least will be in the right position. Not sure about his tackling or ball skills, but which safeties have those on this roster? If you are going to be lacking there anyway, you might as well do so with someone in the right position. How do you know he's going to be in the right position? I don't think we've seen enough of the guy in real game situations, under big time pressure, to know that. He's played in 23 games in 2 years, started the last 2 last year. We've also seen him in preseason games. We have also seen several of his games at LSU and scouting reports to support that. He's started 2 games, when teams could/would be planning for what he does. In my mind Harris is the better player. We'll see if I'm proven wrong.

  9. What do you mean about Harris? I think just about everyone was surprised when he was traded before, and he went to have some pretty good seasons with Carolina. Surely he's a more talented player than Steltz is right now.
  10. Yeah but I just can't see it. If Steltz was going to be a quality NFL safety, the strong likelihood is that we would have seen him stand out more by now.
  11. I don't see how replay will not eventually be instituted. It's going to happen, the question is when. There's always going to be another horrifying bad call right around the bend, which creates continual, natural pressure to implement replay.
  12. The Cardinals obviously just feel bad for the Cubs that they're nearly 20 games under .500 so they wanted to hand the Cubs a couple wins. Baseball is a strange, strange game. And at home no less, the Cards lay a big turd against a team that should have been ripe for the plucking.
  13. Not a problem for me. I'll get to a couple Hawks games this year, but opening night isn't going to work for me.
  14. This was the best thing I've read all day. Get bent, Hendry. Yep. It's not just the Soriano and Kosuke deals that hang around our collective throats. Was giving Grabow $5mil/yr ever going to be the "win now" move that put us over the top? I don't think so.
  15. I don't watch much golf, but a couple buddies at work who do told me this morning that they were hoping he wouldn't ground his club.....and then he did it. I thought it was strange that anyone would think this was a bunker, but apparently plenty of people did. Sucks that something like that decides the fate of an entire tourney though.
  16. You forgot about Steltz, who sounded like the most seriously injured on the night from what I'd read. I think Wright should be ok though...even if he has a broken finger, he won't miss a huge amount of time. Forgot about Steltz, you're right. Wright has looked good to my eyes. It would be a shame if a promising young player like that just couldn't stay healthy. And we really need someone to come in and become that guy for us, too. Since Mike Brown's prime we've just needed that position to become OK for us again, and it hasn't happened.
  17. It's been a real party living through it, too, as everyone around here can attest. :|
  18. It's too bad. I feel for him as well. I guess if he had it to do over again, he wouldn't have allowed himself to go to arby.
  19. One thing that feels old and tired is the injuries in the defensive secondary. Major Wright apparently has a hurt finger now, to go with his groin issue from a couple weeks ago. Hillenmeyer's hurt now, and Manning couldn't go Saturday night. Long is the list of good talent who washed out of the league because they couldn't stay healthy. Don't know what needs to be done to keep these guys on the field, but once the season starts, I'm not relishing another year of a MASH unit in that secondary.
  20. To think the tying run comes to the plate when you had a 7 run lead is laughable. And now the winning run. This must be some kind of joke. Who are these Cardinal hitters anyway? This isn't even the real friggin lineup
  21. I like excitement in baseball, but this is one of those times where I would have preferred LESS excitement. Let's trade some runs for outs and get outta here
  22. Shodu. Nice catch in traffic.
  23. Oh, it's really good to see Chester do that as a Bear.
  24. He looked fine when they were showing him on the sideline after he came out, chatting with a coach Probably just some hysterical rumor-milling fans. I haven't heard anything about him being hurt on the TV feed.
