  1. The problem is, the Lions have been perpetually rebuilding forever. Most times a new organization will yield at least some fairly immediate observable change, even without complete roster overhauls. The jury's still out, for sure. But right now it looks very similar to the same old, poor discipline, shoot yourself, kill your own momentum, Lions.
  2. LOL, nice job.
  3. how do you figure? What's there to figure?
  4. Things haven't changed in Detroit. Same old Lions.
  5. You can hear a smattering of boos every time the Packers reach 4th down. What do these people expect? A TD every drive? Be reasonable, sheesh.
  6. I'd do that deal right now. Deng's no reason to hold up a trade. Noah gives me pause, but Melo's pretty damn good. The 2 #1's? This isn't the NFL. They'd be later-round, non-lottery picks. To me it all comes down to whether you'd deal Noah and his possible future for Melo. I would. Definitely.
  7. Did I hear Chris Harris out too? Idonije, Harris, Garza all probable I'm OK with CW being out. The line is borked anyway; it's all an exercise in compensating for the overall suckage. Smoke & mirrors. Major Wright is beginning to make me sad. He might be one of those guys who you just never get to evaluate because he can't stay on the field.
  8. By definition Toews deserves everything and Crosby, a stick in the eye. Simple!
  9. Yeah. I don't think they're being too brash though. I mean, the man is still collecting his paycheck after all. He's not in there right now, true, but he could be if he works hard and shows he's up to it. I think Devin will be back on the field at some point in the near future and we'll all forget about this.
  10. The Dodgers appear to be stunned that Ryan Theriot turned out the be.........Ryan Theriot.
  11. Lovie and crew are in job saving mode. They don't care about the long-term effects of today's moves on the team. I think a couple years ago you would not have seen the team's leading WR benched the next 2 games, the former pro-bowl DT inactivated without being injured, or the team's INT leader on the sidelines for missing a tackle. Refreshing and long overdue. So you're saying it took real job pressure for them to start........doing their jobs.
  12. Tommie Harris has been grabbing some bench too. I think Lovie & crew have been incredibly consistent. They aren't picking on anyone. They either see what they want to see, or they look for someone else to do the job. I find it interesting that people in general will complain when a coaching staff *doesn't* make changes. They're arrogant. Obstinate. Won't make adjustments. Then a coaching staff decides to follow through and make changes where they feel they are necessary. What happens? People complain. I think the real lesson here is: people will find whatever reason they can to complain, because they like complaining.
  13. He apparently doesn't know what he thinks he knows.
  14. Good chance Williams is back for Sunday night. Perhaps it would be best if he doesn't start right away.
  15. There are still those stubborn people who won't pay for cable. They're fewer than ever, but still exist. I don't think ABC is going to throw MNF back on the big channel just for them though. Like has been said, they've got other options that work off a different demographic. Not everyone cares about sports like we do.
  16. I heard Clifton is playing, but it was someone just talking. I don't have an official word.
  17. LOL in your dreams. There is nothing to suggest the Bears are capable of beating Green Bay, let alone by double digits. i agree the double digit victory is a longshot, but to say they've shown "nothing to suggest the bears are capable of beating green bay" is ridiculous. Yeah, I'm really not all that confident about this game. I don't see why the Bears can't win at home against us tonight. I'd be confident if I was a Packer fan. But like Sulley said, to suggest there's nothing that says the Bears could win is silly. There's plenty. Doesn't mean it will happen. But of course it could.
  18. It seems Ricketts paid his billion bucks, and now wants to avail himself of all his poorly-considered Cub fantasies. My only hope is that after his cub fandom is satisfied and results in nothing more than mediocrity, he'll wake up and start running this thing for real. Because right now it's like plucking a random fan from the stands and giving him the reins.
  19. Not to be a jerk, but isn't Telemundo already part of the NBC family? Stealthing little Spanish titling changes is pointless and silly.
  20. Palmer's pretty stinky
  21. I was thinking the same thing. South Carolina-Auburn is a hell of a game. Plus they're not playing on a freaking blue field. It really does suck all kinds of ass.
  22. Then I humbly submit your vision is a little foggy.
  23. The NFC East may not be either if the Cowboys and Giants don't rebound. An 0-3 team will need to really start playing, but can still get a wild card spot potentially. I thought I heard that 0-3 teams only make the playoffs like 2-3% of the time. Could Tavaris be the better QB right now and give Minnesota a better chance at getting to the playoffs? That's because most 0-3 teams are horrible. The Vikings are probably a 'good' 0-3 if it came to that (they should beat Detroit though). It'd still be long odds but higher than 2-3% if that is indeed the probability. As for Jackson, who knows. He's looked good at times. I'm pretty sure they feel he's alright for awhile, but limited as a full time starter when teams have a chance to really gameplan for him over the long term. Childress can have a favorable feeling for him in regards to being a depth chart QB, while at the same time realizing he's not the future as the Vikings' full-time starter. And I think that's where the organization is at with Tavaris Jackson. In short I think they know he's not the guy.
  24. OK, so if they sit Cutler I'll expect an explanation.
  25. This stuck out to me. You think the Vikings don't know what they have with Tavaris? The reason they paid so handsomly for Favre is because they know full well what they have with Tavaris.
