  1. Whatever it is, I really hope he has a future at LT. I agree with you that it's a bad sign in terms of his future as LT, but I'd like to see them salvage him as an NFL player. I also like the idea of possibly easing him back in after the injury, maybe move him back to LT later on. Although -- I don't know if that's part of the plan or not. I'd mostly just like to see him succeed at something on this football team since we spent a high pick on him. G is generally considered a less demanding position, so maybe he can stick there. Yeah -- we'll need to spend more on LT now, which sucks.
  2. I bet you didn't call this one.... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/10/bears-shuffle-o-line-move-chris-williams-to-guard.html WTF Are you upset with the move? I think it's a great idea.
  3. It seems clear it wasn't the final hit that they showed, which makes sense to me based on what I saw. Can Martz just please do quick drops and forget about 7 steppers, and most 5 steppers? I feel like the issue has become Cutler not even believing a pass can be made in those situations, so he just curls up and puts his eyes down. And really, which QB is going to do any different? There's still stuff we can run. Quick slants. Screen passes. If the running game works decently, play action would still be on the table.
  4. then you become drew rosenhaus and you're still pathetic and probably depressed but insanely [expletive] rich. The 1%, while the other 99% hang out in bathrooms and wish they were part of the 1%.
  5. Please jay, come back. Please.
  6. Always a welcome sight. Nice win today, Raiders
  7. Nice to know we can still pick up a win or two 'bear style' (ie w/o qb play) if needed. Today, it was really needed :)
  8. Man. Robbie Gould is just worth every penny. The man continues to be so solid.
  9. If we blow this game, I think we tank about 4 more in a row -- season done.
  10. we really could wind up losing this
  11. It most certainly is not.
  12. Just get a runback for TD or something. No way CAR puts up more than 20 points today.
  13. Collins doesn't have any of the skills that would be required to succeed with our line issues. Run it every play, regardless of whether they stack the box or not.
  14. Fortunately, right now it looks like Clausen is attempting to outdo Collins for worst QB on the field.
  15. Defense managed to stop that from happening. They flipped the FP a little though. Turning over inside the 20 is happening too often. It's starting to ruin my mood.
  16. Yeah, that's just terrible all the way around. At least get your 3 points.
  17. Yeah, all the decent games start @ 2:30--right when I need to leave for the airport :) Oh well. I could get out of the house and get some exercise on a beautiful day...
  18. Me too, but I see an equally poor showing by Carolina with Smith out and a rookie QB with virtually no receiving corps. Could be a 6-3 type of game.Yep.
  19. Ugh. Kramer does picks on college gameday now? *reaches for remote* No desire to watch his clownish, worn out, useless mad money act on my Saturday mornings.
  20. Since when does Goodell lack the balls to suspend someone, even a star player? I don't think Goodell bows to anyone, HOF credentials or not. This is definitely suspension-worthy now that there's a pattern. Can't have players making life uncomfortable for members of the press.
  21. I'm fully expecting a poor offensive showing without Cutler.
  22. Didn't see the game. Heard Turco was pretty good. We got a point on the road. I'm good :)
  23. I've been thinking the Bears have been using the shotgun more this year. It's interesting they are still at league-lows. I think the reality is, they were just not using it period before except for the very rare case. Now they've done a little more, but it's still really really low in terms of percentage. I don't get why Kreutz would stop them from using it. He does do it. If he was so against it wouldn't that mean that he doesn't want to do it at all? Plus -- do we really think Olin Kreutz is telling Martz what formations and plays he can call? Maybe he is, I don't know. But I find that strange.
  24. Yes for 2 reasons: 1) Haine doesn't have a noodle arm like Collins has. I'm not saying he has a strong arm but he can move it down field if need be. He's better suited to run watered down version of Martz's offense 2) He is definitely somewhat mobile, which Collins is anythin but. So if the offensive line fails as it has in some or all of the 4 games we've played, we have Collins in there waiting to get plowed or Hanie who can get out of the pocket and at least run a couple yards forward instead of 7 yards back. I think the lack of mobility might be good in this case. Cutler was getting himself in trouble by not just dumping the ball off or throwing it away when he was under pressure. They need a qb this week that takes his drop and gets rid of the ball. Trying to buy extra time and scrambling around is just likely to cause more problems. I think I'd rather have Hanie, but it's an argument between 2 pretty blah alternatives.
  25. It might be a good thing that I won't be able to watch this Sunday's game.
