How? Smith threw up a wounded duck with his receiver 10 yards away from the ball and Atogwe ran into him. I agree I thought that was a terrible call. Both the WR and Atogwe are running to the near sideline. Smith throws the ball 10 yards behind him on the hash. So just because Atogwe isn't able to stop on a dime and immediately change directions that's PI? There's no way the WR was going to get to that ball. On a lot of these, I would prefer no calls. Trouble is, I can't quantify which ones I'd like to see a no call and which ones I wouldn't. I guess my main objection is becoming that we're seeing flags on way too many huge TDs or big plays. It just feels like there's always going to be a flag, and I don't remember feeling that way years back. I prefer not feeling like there's always going to be a huge reversal on a flag all the time. I don't watch football to see refs throw flags. Heck, I'd prefer we computerize the whole thing and get the refs off the field entirely, if that were possible. The best ref is the one we hear from less often, and when we do, there's no doubt about the call, IMHO.
