  1. I don't think they're so bad that they hold the football like it's loaded with dynamite. Greg Salas is [expletive] his pants waiting for these punts. Maybe. They sure don't have much oomph on O right now, that's for sure. But, they're still in it. Let's see what happens. Nice defensive penetration there.
  2. Either that or they're simply bad again this year.
  3. Does he do anything else? If he does, I don't see it. Also, his voice and the mix on those intros has gotten progressively worse & worse. It's completely phoned in. Heck, NBC whipped up a quick Joan Jett cover with Faith Hill in 5 minutes and it blows Hank away. MNF can do way better at this point. They're afraid of change.
  4. I could go for a different intro song after, oh, 30 years of Hank Williams Jr, too.
  5. Why does ESPN even do analyst-by-analyst picks when they all just choose one team? Quit wasting my time. You all pick the Giants. Meaningless. Let's get to the game.
  6. So, like Hub Arkush.
  7. So Mayweather is angry at HBO because he agreed to a below-market contract? He has nobody to blame but himself. It should be ancient history; he signed the contract as a teenager with Arum as his agent. The networks quit signing fighters to exclusive contracts back in '02, but Floyd is still pissed, hence his argument with Merchant. The only reason he still fights on HBO is because he's still under contract with Golden Boy. Don't be surprised if the Paquiao fight is a Showtime production. But didn't Floyd say something to the effect that he's always loyal to HBO? My feeling was that this is just a schtick he & Merchant have. I'm probably wrong, I know little about this whole deal.
  8. Agreed. Hope this isn't something semi-chronic, though. But I'll take it.
  9. Come on, you don't have anything bad at all to say about Floyd in that situation? Of course you have to protect yourself at all times, but that was a pretty [expletive] thing to do.
  10. Do you always only consider one side of the equation, or is it just when it comes to the Packers?
  11. Hopefully he's right. That would at least make me feel a little better.
  12. You lose your Bear fan card.
  13. If you've identified a solid QB, the results of this season will matter little. The future will look bright.
  14. Awesome, we're down to 1 page game threads that consist mostly of Fred's stat readouts. Cheers Freddie, you are a trooper :)
  15. Yeah I always love to see guys like Holley make a big play like that. The NFL is full of stories about guys just trying to do something special ONCE, on the big stage, just like that. Good for him.
  16. Well at least you have to call the Bears good, otherwise your win today means little :)
  17. I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but Kaplan is the new Mike North. It's Chicago. There's always got to be a fire starter.
  18. I half-expected the 'Boys to fumble the FG snap :) But no, they win the game on the road, in OT. Good little drama to end the NFL daytime schedule.
  19. Oooooh, San Frannie. How you let that happen?
  20. Take that, Packer fans. Sorry dude, but Jets fans are already as annoying as Packer fans, and they haven't won anything yet. If the Jets ever did win the Super Bowl, the whole of sports fandom will hate the Jets with a passion seldom seen.
  21. See I just don't know. We were down 3 with the ball midway through the 3rd despite a hell of a lot going wrong up to that point. They were the better team today sure just like baltimore was the better team over Pittsburgh last week. One week later the ravens lose by 2 scores to a probably mediocre titans team Also as for the line they are probably bad no matter what but if you take 2 starters out you get this. I guess I just don't understand why Angelo feels the need to develop a line. It's like we have the qb we need to win, the rb we need, in general the defense we need. All that says a team that's expecting to contend. But then you get to one of if not the most importa t unit on a tram and you see 4 unproven developing guys and Garza who is mediocre at best. If we didn't have the resources I would understand but the fact that we actually have a ton of resources at our disposal leads me to scratch my head and wonder why were wasting abyear of our Ds prime. Yes, I think the Saints are good. It's early yet, they played terribly against the Pack on D, but it was a weird offseason. Week 1 -- it was week 1. It means *something*, but teams put it together as the season wears on. As for Angelo and his O-Line philosophy, he just doesn't know what he's doing. I wish he would give over that portion of the job to someone who has a better handle on it. His forte is delivering talent on the defensive side of the ball. I fear we will never be a great offense with Angelo. I don't know what the solution is. The best I can come up with is to have the man delegate that portion of his role to someone with a better track record of success. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen. And so here we are. Another year, another terrible OLine product. It sucks.
  22. I think your conclusion is questionable. Obviously the Lions are much improved and dangerous, but their win wasn't "epic fashion" considering the Bills did it one week ago. Saying they beat 10 win teams is true, but not indicative of how those teams are this year or last year for that matter. I'm a Chiefs fan, but they won like 4 of their games on luck. Had them pegged for 6-10 this year. Take away their best defensive and offensive playmakers, and they're a 4 win team. Yeah, but the Lions of the past would find a way to lose to even those kinds of teams. I don't know how good the Lions are yet, but they're definitely improved. They might have done something similar last year if Stafford was healthy. It's really all on him. He's a pretty good QB. If he goes down, the Lions will spiral down again.
  23. San Diego will win this. Hope so. That would make it a great 2nd half of football.
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80hCjHJuhxM Wow that was an incredible punch. Much harder than I was expecting. Pisses me off again seeing it. Any way you slice it, May knew exactly what he was doing and it was [expletive]. He gets to do that once. No one will let that happen to them the second time. Well.....unless they are incredibly stupid. May is casting himself like a pro wrestling heel. He's the fighter you can't help but hate.
  25. Crap. the Patriots are damn good.
