  1. Either this, or "My team kind of sucks."
  2. He sure as hell believes in twitter though.
  3. Think there are a few hangovers happening in Central Iowa this morning?
  4. Treatable or not, that's very serious to get lung cancer at his age More or less serious than ignoring a child rape when he was 10 years younger? ? - not sure what you are even getting at. I'm just making a comment about his cancer. That's it.
  5. They don't look good tonight. Pressure's been better to start the 3rd, but probably too little too late.
  6. Sveum's going to be fine. Give a guy the right players and a lot of this stuff becomes semantics, largely. Put Fielder up with the bases loaded. Dusty Baker looks like a great manager because Bonds just blows the ball out of the ballpark and wins the game. Just get Theo & crew to feed Sveum the players. After 2-3 years Dale is the toast of Chicago, regardless of his style.
  7. Go Broncos, God Bless. HAH. ahahahah.
  8. The 1992 and 1993 Dallas Cowboys under Jimmy Johnson say hello. What utter crapola that statement is. Actually, there's a theory out there that says you hire a disciplinarian coach to get the team to a certain level, but if you want to win championships you then switch to a more relaxed guy to get them over the hump. I think the theory that there's more than one way to get the job done is better.
  9. If this line performs even average, I think Tice needs to get some kind of award.
  10. Treatable or not, that's very serious to get lung cancer at his age
  11. I'm just on the Theo magic carpet ride at this point. Sveum? Whatever else? Bring it! Heck, we bought into the whole experience, right? Just have to trust the brain crew at this point, see where it all leads.
  12. Hopefully the victims will be willing to testify and offset any decrease in his credibility. Apparently his TV interview with Costas so upset some of them that they're coming forward now. This could turn into a volume case, with a seemingly endless pool of crimes to draw from. If I was doing a dead pool, Sandusky would definitely be on it.
  13. Dunno about that. At some point he's gonna need to score 25-30 points to win a game and I'm not sure he can do it. I'm not so sure. To me the expectations remain low. He needs to win games like this, get his team into the playoffs at some point in a pretty weak division. After that, it's a different ballgame. For right now, he just needs to do this stuff and see what the team does in response to build a winner around it.
  14. That sucks. Looking at our schedule, if we can pull off this win, I'm going to get very excited. I mean I'm already much higher on this team now than I probably should be, but I figure the Chargers are probably the most potent of the AFC West bunch, even with their diminished state. I might even need to Stub Hub it and get down to Soldier Field this year if they keep this up :)
  15. ...and on the other hand, Sanchez used to be Tebow in a way, and now the magic has run out.
  16. I've come to the conclusion that he's another player in football that simply can't be quantified in numbers. To heck with it, good for him. He just got the job done. Nothing else needs to be said.
  17. Yeah, that's another thing. Manning may very well come back, but at some level less than he was. That makes it more complicated because it probably won't be clear where he's really going to settle in at by draft day. They may know he can come back, but not how good he'll be.
  18. good, it was premature (why do you people care so much about meaningless [expletive] like this??) we'll be a really good team in time, but Stafford will have to make major strides in throwing under pressure; he's just been terrible for the most part there Wait, what? I was just making a comment in response to a post. Take a chill pill there, Lions fan.
  19. Commentary I heard this morning suggests that some people are beginning to pull back from the unmitigated Lions love.
  20. The next guy who should be brought in is Schwartz. Because it's pretty clear to me this is ultimately coming from him. Absolutely. On the flip side, though, he's wound so tight that I could see him giving a press conference someday that Mora or Green could only be jealous of. Yeah, the potential for entertainment is high. When even Jimmy Harbaugh thinks you're nuts.....that's really something.

  22. Jerseys are jerseys. They are ugly, but whatever. I don't even think they're ugly. So they're orange. So what? They aren't even close to as ugly as, say, those Jets throwbacks. They're fine. Wear them once a year. No problem with it. this is the second time they've worn them. Ok there, Mr. Semantics.
  23. Oh it'll happen.
  24. I'll go out on a limb: I think Maddux is our guy.
  25. why? manning will be 36 next year and coming off a season that he didn't play because of a serious injury. even he would know that the colts would be foolish to pass up a franchise qb with the first overall pick. best case scenario, manning gets healthy and is able to be effective for another 4 years or whatever, but you can't count on that, not now. and if it does pan out that way, you've probably got two really good players at the most important position in sports, and should get a nice return no matter what direction you choose to go in. Because the situation is in flux, and they don't know. They also don't know if Luck will turn out or not. Manning is the Colts. I don't think I can recall a guy who is more the defining franchise persona than this guy. It's really complicated to just throw him away, IMO. I think this is a huge, very difficult decision. People are acting like the Colts just pick Luck, like it's a slot machine and you're just pulling the arm down. This is the guy who has defined everything for you, for his entire career. There's really not much else the Colts can even hang their hats on. Manning is it. Throwing him away like so much garbage? Wow, that's a big deal IMHO. I don't know. I'd be interested to see how a Colts fan feels about this I mean, if it's the Dolphins at 0-16, it's a no-brainer. There's nothing else to consider. But shuffling off a legend without even a chance to see if he can be the returning hero? Wow, that's big stuff in my eyes.
