Whoa. We haven't played in NY, on this date, since 2 years before I was born. -
I saw tiredness in OT -- or at least what I perceived to be tiredness. I guess it makes sense. Just OT after OT these past few games, it's got to wear on them eventually. I don't see why the Hawks can't play more like they did in the 1st period moving forward. They completely dominated the Bruins, and really the game shouldn't have even gone to OT. It was a classic ref mistake, not having enough visual angles to see where the puck is around the net. It happens. I'd like to pose a serious question: why do people around here think there's suddenly no chance? I went back and watched game 1 (I was traveling during most of the game). I saw the Hawks get beat fairly bad in the early 1st period, then adjust and pretty much dominate play in the 2nd period. Then they let a goal in the 3rd to go down 3-1, but adjusted quickly and scored a couple goals to tie it. To me, the Hawks did not get lucky in game 1. They won because they were supposed to -- they were the better team. Game 2, the Hawks controlled play the entire 1st period, then part of the 2nd. From about the halfway point of the 2nd period on, they were controlled. So, you've got the Hawks actually controlling more of the ice time so far, or at the very least a pretty even split. My question: how does this equal the Hawks having no chance whatever?

Agreed on the response. It's a 1-1 series, a damn good Cup finals. Hawks looked bad the last part of this game. They completely and totally dominated the 1st period though. You can't just disregard that and say they can't do it again. It's a travesty that the refs can't get a simple goal call right, but whatever. Roll with it. We beat the Kings in their building and we can beat the Bruins in their building.

and often He's crazy if he plays. There's no way anyone can protect a shoulder injury in hockey, especially one that the other team knows about. Even if they didn't, shoulder to shoulder hits happen a lot. Whenever someone is justifying a hit, the first thing they say is "He hit him in the shoulder first. Yeah, but hasn't he been playing with it for awhile now anyway? The Hawks should definitely test it, but the Bruins really need him.

Soul would know better than me, since I just moved here, but any of the Great Dane locations will have it on, probably without sound though, or there are several bars off Monroe Street or near the university that will have it. Let me know where you go, and if my plans get cancelled tonight, I'll join you. Every self-respecting sports establishment is going to have it. It's a big college hockey town and the Brewers game is going to be over. No NBA either. It's Blackhawks night all over town, whether they want it to be or not :). If you are downtown and want to relive Patrick Kane's legendary weekend, head to Kollege Klub. I also like Echo Tap -- a little more low key. Jordan's Big 10 Pub is also a good place. I'll be at home watching with the GF :).

I wish I had been able to see the whole game. As it was, the game was halfway through the 1st period when I boarded my plane in Cincy, and I *still* managed to catch around 30 minutes of overtime hockey at home in Madison. Can't even believe how awesome that was. But, there's a twinge of concern over being dominated for 50 minutes at home by the Bruins. Need to knock that junk off.
