  1. Wow I thought we’d have at least until June before the Brewers started destroying everyone and we started sputtering.
  2. It’s usually a shock when people at work see me because my HR profile pic is from like 20 years ago. I kind of enjoy the WTF face now. It’s like….the profile pic right? Yeah.
  3. I sure would love to trot Peralta out in a Cubs uniform to mow down his former team.
  4. Really can’t believe this team right now, LOL. Relish it.
  5. It drives me insane having a DLine that crumbles but the GM lives and dies based on the record of the team.
  6. Yeah the Reds Reddit is pretty much us when the Cubs are sucking. You could literally do a search and replace Reds -> Cubs and it’s one of our game threads.
  7. Just occurred to me that catcher framing doesn’t mean as much with ABS. I’m sure I’m late to the party on that.
  8. They’re saying it’s a hammy
  9. 805,000 attended the draft.
  10. I'll consider it an OK outcome if we can just manage to scratch out 1 win in this series. These are great teams (LA & SD), playing at home, and playing at their best. It's always tough to go out there and win. 2-4 is no fun but just don't get swept please.
  11. Not being in the draft room, I can’t say for sure. But if I had to lay money I’d say he came up empty at RB last year and at EDGE this year. Had a guy in mind but got beat. Because in both those cases there was a run right before his pick and he didn’t take action to move up. RB turned out OK, luckily. Some of that was just Ben’s ability to scheme. This year it could just be that Poles isn’t going to throw more money at EDGE. Not going to throw good money at bad money, so to speak. But again I’m speculating. Shut up about Caleb. I already have a heart flutter. 😁
  12. I agree. But what about stopping the run then? He’s not doing a good job there either. He can maybe stake a claim to valuing coverage over pass rush but not if his players also suck stopping the run.
  13. Thing is, if we found our long term center and top tier safety nobody will call it a bad draft.
  14. The ultimate irony. Biggest weakness, lowest pick.
  15. Yeah, at this point you aren’t going to be successful panic picking a project DLine player. It has to be handled outside the draft or you go with what you have and win at other positions.
  16. Also, maybe this is what it looks like when you’ve found your franchise QB and the priority is to feed the offense to maximize his impact. We’ve never really been in this position before.
  17. We aren’t. Maybe the Bears are thinking they have enough invested in EDGE already. It’s not working out but the solution is to strengthen the rest of the team right now, not spend more draft capital at that position.
  18. My glass half full is that I like the Thieneman pick because of his elite speed / versatility and he’s coming from a really good football program. I can accept the Logan Jones pick. It’s unfortunate we needed to suddenly figure out center, but you do need to figure out center. He’s coming from a proven OL factory in Iowa, and rated highly there. I view that as the right fallback pick. Poles lets himself get beat in the draft. Over and over. He should have seen that Jacas was falling to him and used the fact that he still had pick #60 to work with. Jump up and get your guy if he’s falling into your lap.
  19. Well I had some stuff to attend to so I missed everything after the trade down. We didn’t need TE in any way, and WR? For depth sure but the needs we have on D are acute.
  20. Put in a difficult position, the Bears have done what they could to address OC. Once they got beat to the punch on Jacas, a highly-rated B1G center is fine by me.
