  1. You folks keep saying the Brewers are not good. They are playing great baseball right now, when it counts. What else matters? There's not 3 months of long term trending left to consider. If they play like this for another 10 games or so they are probably in the playoffs, either by a wild card or divisional championship. Yeah, unlike these slob Cubs, only winning 7 in a row. What a bunch of gutless chocking dogs! They just don't care enough.
  2. I assumed we'd be going in up 3.5 at least. Going in up 2.5, we really need to take 3 of 4. A split is OK but anything worse and I'll be worried. The Brewers are not good, im ready to sweep them away. You folks keep saying the Brewers are not good. They are playing great baseball right now, when it counts. What else matters? 3. Preferably the entire coach/GM regime is canned before Mitch sees the field. Viva la Glennon.
  4. screw them, they suck and don't deserve it seems quite a few notches above (below?) the slightest bit angry. I will definitely be the slightest bit angry if they don't make the playoffs this year. But I can't imagine saying or thinking something along the lines of they don't deserve it, when speaking about this group of players that actually just won the world series 11 months ago. You're a better man than me because I'll be pissed off. This seems like quibbling over technicalities. We'll all be angry if they don't pull through. One person will flip out a little more than the next. Such is life.
  5. Wait. Sucks? Yes, going into an off day on an L sucks. It's a net + It's not just an L. It's a sweep at home by the team chasing them. They need a day off.
  6. Well the Brewers suck too tonight so....happy
  7. Nats just tied it, but it's clearly the best team they've had since the 2011 team. I think they managed to catch both LA and D.C. on a downstroke but still, I doubt they'll fade.
  8. Welcome to 2017.
  9. This year the obligatory miserable Bears season will have no counterbalance. And that is what grieves me the most.
  10. I'm trying my best to think of a worse move, and I'm coming up totally dry.
  11. What an article.
  12. I'm in response-only mode. If someone calls on me for help or something, I'll respond. But initiate? Impossible. It sucks because calling in sick would be too obvious and I'm out of vacay. But who the heck cares? It's 5 o'clock somewhere.
  13. https://gfycat.com/DistortedHospitableAmericanwirehair Sorry, I'm sure this has been posted but I'll remember this moment forever. This is an open tab in my browser and I'll look at it every 5 minutes.
  14. 8-) Love it.
  15. Judging by your posts last night, you got drunk in one heck of a hurry Told myself to stop drinking wine as we entered the latter innings with the lead (don't want to be unable to remember it right?), then said screw it. Then Cubs give up the homer, switch to vodka. Couple of those through the rain delay, just about under the table during the final out. Still remember it anyway. Interesting. Brain cells can't be killed by alcohol when the Cubs win the World Series. I couldn't post, too many SQL errors.
  16. It's sinking in. Bestest day ever in the history of history. So many great moments but the one that is sticking out right now is the look on KB's face as he throws the ball to Riz. I'm almost sure he's laughing as he's watching the ball travel across to first base. How amazing that the Cubs won like that, too. Giving up the lead, the whole city coming down from their high, oh no not again. NO MUTHAS. NOT AGAIN. CUBS WIN ANYWAY. Whew.
  17. I also wandered away from NSBB awhile back as life got in the way. I'm very, very sorry to hear this. Fred was much appreciated in the game threads and elsewhere on the forum. RIP and my best to his family. I'm thinking of him today, as well as all my late family members who would have so wanted to witness this day with us. --Tom
  18. I've been working since 5am, so I have an early end to my day. I'm going to be sitting at home finishing up random things, trying to make the time go by faster. This is the moment we've been waiting for our entire lives, ladies and gents. This team was built for this. Being in Cleveland is an advantage via Schwarbs and the Cubs have shown a better approach at the plate away this series. Hendricks cannot be rattled, he just doesn't have the emotions for it. Kluber will be attempting something he's never done, and few have even tried. I'm comfortable we are in the right position to succeed. All hands on deck. Let's rock.
  19. Insane!!!
  20. The Kubiak thing seemed like stretching for something interesting in an otherwise dreary SB.
  21. Game over. Miller MVP has to be
  22. That's some serious pass rush
  23. And here I thought that Arizona versus Carolina was going to be the good game today
