  1. I can't believe they're doing that nauseating "Who's Now" crap. Who's the idiot who came up with that idea? Is there really no one @ ESPN who can see how stupid that is?
  2. I wanted him on the bench as a late-inning LH bat. This starting everyday thing was never what I dreamed he would be used for. Lou should know better than to try to keep a cripple in the lineup everyday, then lament that he isn't hitting homers. That's ridiculous.
  3. Can you do towel drills with your legs? =D>
  4. Good news on Briggs, hopefully it's true.
  5. How many times to people have to say this isn't the case? Calm down, it's a figure of speech. "I'm not yet going to buy into the idea that Murton is a lock to be an everyday, productive outfielder for many years until I see more." Happy? Not particularly, it's still putting words in a lot of people's mouths. And even then, why go off the deep end when characterizing someone else's argument? How about because it's 11:30pm and I would like to save a few keystrokes, and I wrongly thought people would get my meaning instead of jumping all over me for every little thing?
  6. They almost beat us with our most favorable pitching matchup. I'm not taking anything for granted.
  7. How many times to people have to say this isn't the case? Calm down, it's a figure of speech. "I'm not yet going to buy into the idea that Murton is a lock to be an everyday, productive outfielder for many years until I see more." Happy?
  8. sutcliffes reaction to getting kendall: "the cubs just got better" Yeah, that's another sore spot. Whenever a trade goes down it's always invariably "great move." Except many times it's really not all that great a move, like the Kendall move which was just blah from the beginning. I'm sick of feeling like I'm being placated all the time by these guys. Christ, some stuff really sucks -- SAY IT.
  9. I don't think anyone can say exactly what Murton will wind up being after what? 700 total career ABs? I'd like to see him up here again and playing. Christ Floyd is a joke, if all we can get is Murton then fine lets do it. I'm not going to buy into this Murton is God crap yet though. And this year, we need more than Matt Murton or the Crew is going to pull away, probably sooner rather than later.
  10. I think it's wrong to suggest the Bears are somehow being disingenuous here, or treating Briggs unfairly just because they extended Tillman. The Bears offered Briggs a deal. It was Lance who balked at it. #1 CBs will always be worth more on a positional basis than weak side LBs. Briggs wanted much, much more than either Tillman or Vasher got. He wanted Urlacher money -- superstud cash. The Bears wouldn't be signing Tillman or Vasher if they had done that. Wouldn't have a prayer to resign Harris either, for that matter. It's a ridiculous demand, and I think Rosenhaus is starting to realize it.
  11. That's the problem - neither he or Adewale are earning their money. I'm really hoping a healthy Tommie Harris and fierce competition will bring the best out of Alex and Wale. Both are very good players. The reason the Bears D struggled at the end of last year was because they weren't getting consistent pressure w/ the front 4. Hopefully the DTs can take up 3-4 blockers on passing downs leaving the ends 1 on 1 on the outside more often. We'll see, I'm suprised to hear this much positive talk about Adams; I thought he was a disappointment @ SF which was why they let him go. I must've misread that whole deal. In my delusional world Mike Brown stays healthy, which gives our D its edge back, and DT turns out to be not a huge issue. Hey, I can dream can't I? 8-)
  12. It's amazing how horrible ESPN has become. I feel like I can't trust anything they say anymore, not even their 'straight facts' reporting like the bottom-line, which I have caught in error several times. One of the problems is that the network is overrun with former sports players. The truth is, just because you played the game doesn't make you a good sports journalist. When you're trusting guys like Morgan for journalistic integrity, you're barking up the wrong tree. They don't even know what it means. But it goes beyond that. Just last week, during the Kendall trade, ESPN insisted that the Cubs had traded Sean Marshall for Kendall -- a ridiculous trade. I believe their own ticker had the correct trade. This is unforgivable inaccuracy. ESPN has become the worst sports network in the world, bar none, for getting the facts right. I don't know what else to say, the network is just complete junk now.
  13. What an oddball game. I'll take the win though.
  14. Oh good Lord. Please don't let this crap happen.
  15. Whoa, this guy is on the bench? Where the hell did he come from?
  16. My hatred for Eckstein is flowing freely.
  17. Damn, wanted a ARam homer to ice it there.
  18. *crickets* What the heck? You mean Cards fans?
  19. Yeah they replayed it, FXMW was wrong on the count.
