  1. I agree. I don't think we can expect more. I'm worried about the lack of hitting over the past 2 days, that it's more than just a blip on the radar.
  2. You're forgettin jimbos dumnbess Hehe. We just simply cannot survive for more than a couple games without Derrek Lee. It's just a fact. Take Lee out = losing streak, sooner or later and probably sooner. I'm sure glad the suspension is now behind us. Hopefully it doesn't take D any time to get back into things. This offense is pathetic without the Lee/Ramirez 1-2 punch.
  3. Unreliable.
  4. Not sure, but I do think right about now he's hoping no one goes back and reads the prediction, given the Cards are screwed and all.
  5. I can't remember, but I think they were talking "first ballot." They probably are right, but they are lapdogs nonetheless. They need to stop showing Kruk on those Nutrisystem commercials. He's gained all the weight back, and then some...
  6. He's not that loved, but he is loved. Well who would you put ahead of Wood on that list? Sosa used to be. Not anymore. You mean since Sandberg only? How about Dawson? The Hawk is still loved here.
  7. I'm gonna go ahead and assume if 'alex the psychic' was writing this story today instead of July 13th, he would not have made this prediction.
  8. It was started Saturday, and we followed with 2 losses... just sayin'
  9. Yup that contract sure looks like a disaster right now huh? 1 start 5 ip wow...After all my Card fans friends have given me crap about Wood and Prior though, I sure as hell dont feel sorry for the Cards, and keep tryin to tell myself not to laugh, but its hard. You can't really laugh at a guy getting hurt. What people laughed as us for was the remarkable silly injuries, swearing every spring "they're gonna be healthy THIS year!" and then being dicked around by our coaches or doctors about the health of those pitchers. I don't think people laughed at the actual guys getting hurt (except for a few Sox fans), but the manner in which those injuries were dealt with and recieved by us. Including myself. Laughing at a guys injury makes you a pretty foolish person, and you also put yourself on Karma's bad side. Good luck with that! No, I know plenty of Cards fans(amongst others) who repeatedly sent me texts laughing about Wood and Prior being hurt. And Id say Im not laughing at Carpenters injury, just laughing moreso at their fans, cause like you said karma is a bitch. Yeah, there were too many times I read openly celebratory posts from Cardinals and Sox fans to just write it off. I never root for injury, because it does suck, but this looks very much like the big 'ol Karmic wheel spinning around and whacking Cards fans where it hurts.
  10. Could be. I would rather see this happen than Dunn going to the Brewers. There's always a chance he gets hot and the last thing we need to deal with is more Brewers home runs.
  11. 'For the good of baseball'? Really? Or is it for the good of a bullcrap P.R. show that SportsCenter can show over & over again? If there are boos, remember, they can't get mileage out of the record "breaking" moment because it'll just remind everyone of what's really going on. So, Phillips' grand idea is to force everyone's head into the sand so we can all pretend what Bonds is doing is legitimate. Hooray for willful ignorance! In all of this, let's not forget Barry Bonds signed a contract with ESPN to air a reality show a couple years back. He's an ESPN employee.
  12. Anyone else get the feeling we've probably got 4 chances to win this game? The 4 ARam ABs.
  13. He's starting to give me gray hairs. What the hell is up with him? Time to snap out of it, and double-quick.
  14. I saw 3 strikes in that inning that were never called. If the ump is going to squeeze Marshall's best stuff like that, then we have zero chance. Give me a freaking break.
  15. Don't want to see any more anemic, crappy offense like yesterday. Start scoring some damn runs.
  16. That web site is setting off all kinds of Site Advisor alerts. No thx, I like my computer free of spyware.
  17. I guess I really dont see where thats a shot at the Bears. Do you expect him to say, " this offense sucks, thats why they got me"? I don't see that as a shot, either. I have heard some people suggesting Benson won't be able to handle the entire load, which will lead to a loss of running yardage this year. I'm not so sure about that, but I guess we'll have to see. I always thought APete would thrive as a secondary back to a primary like Benson. But again, I don't really know, we'll just have to see if that comes to fruition. Obviously a Benson injury is the biggest fear.
  18. That's stinks. Who hit him? Cliff Lee. Texas avenged him, beat the Indians pretty good. Lee looked horrible. At this point I'm pretty glad we didn't pick him up in the offseason, as many wanted.
  19. Woody on Comcast: "About 4-5 weeks ago it wasn't responding and we were running out of options. Then one day I woke up and it felt good and it's felt good since then." That's a paraphrase. I'm not sure if I feel good about that. If it just magically started feeling better, then I'm fearful it might 'magically' start feeling bad again just as quickly.
  20. I don't openly wish for injuries, either. That said, this is the reason many teams don't throw mega-star deals at aging starters with a history of injury in the past. We can throw Schmitty on that list of cautionary tales as well. It can easily wind up blowing the payroll to hell for the better part of decade. Not jumping for joy at the injury -- but I'm definitely excited to see this financial restrictor-plate placed on the Cards for a few years.
  21. Regardless of whether it is lower on the gambling totem pole than other sports, it could still happen. Baseball has already been host to two of the most high-profile gambling scandals. You can still make money off it. It can still happen. All those hundreds of umps that come through the majors over the years? Wouldn't suprise me one bit if one or two have shaved points.
  22. I'll be there also. I was hoping for a sweep...Oh well...Need to take 2/3. Thanks. Now I know who to come and find if we lose :P
  23. You can bet you ass ESPN isn't going to even mention Bonds is still currently under Grand Jury investigation. Kudos to the Daily News for refusing to ignore what's really going on with Bonds. It's terrible to be crowning a cheat and possible criminal as the home run king.
